#WeirdFact : President John Quincy Adams, who served as the 6th President of the United States from 1825 to 1829, had a pet alligator. Marquis de Lafayette, a French general and political figure, gifted the alligator to Adams during his presidency. The alligator lived in a bathtub in the East Room of the White House. Visitors were sometimes taken aback when they encountered the unexpected reptilian resident. Eventually, the alligator was moved to a more suitable home in the Washington D.C. public gardens.
#WeirdFact : Pigs are incredibly intelligent animals and have shown the ability to play video games! In a study conducted by researchers at Purdue University, pigs were trained to control a cursor on a computer screen using a joystick with their snouts. The pigs quickly learned how to manipulate the joystick and were able to successfully move the cursor to hit targets on the screen, earning rewards in the form of food. This demonstrated their remarkable cognitive abilities and adaptability to complex tasks.
#WeirdFact : Apples have been used as a substitute target for testing bulletproof vests! In some cases, when testing the effectiveness of bulletproof vests, researchers have used apples as a stand-in for human flesh. The density and consistency of apples can simulate the resistance and impact of human tissue, providing valuable data on how the vests perform against different types of bullets. So, in the name of science and safety, apples have had an unexpected role in bulletproof vest testing!
