I just saw an article referring to story points as a “core scrum concept.”
Do you know that it isn’t?
Neither user stories nor story points are core scrum concepts.
Nothing in the scrum guide requires either, and story points are a largely abandoned XP concept.

Rewarding one person for a team’s effort is a great way to destroy teams. Rewarding one team for an organizational effort is a great way to destroy organizations. Reward systems are fundamentally suspect to me. Doing good work should be a pervasive norm.

Tech debt != bugs. Tech debt is the best job you could do knowing what you knew when you wrote the code. A TODO implies that you knew how to do it better when you write the code. That’s a deliberate bug, not tech debut. holub.com/tech
