Unelected PM Andy Burnham pledged to end Starmer’s Digital ID policy , today in Parliament we learnt that he lied.
👁️There's no such thing as "device level controls for children" only digital ID checks for EVERYONE.
No one in a democracy should need to show their passport just to get online.
These plans would replace efforts for meaningful tech and parental responsibility with performative, authoritarian government control and technology that is ripe for abuse.

I’m all for protecting children from various online threats. But that should ultimately be the responsibility of parents and certainly not a nefarious control freak government who are using child safety as a smokescreen towards digital id surveillance.
