Humans having "direction" over AI leads to dropping bombs on school kids in Iran. But at least one day infinite dialogue Fortnite Darth Vader can convince us to kill ourselves.
In practice this looks like leadership forcing AI on their creative teams. End result: wholesale replacement of VO talent and writers.
No way to properly compensate talent for infinite dialogue so they'll just steal an unfathomable number VO performances and writing samples.
AI is shaking up the nature of the creative work being done, pushing more towards direction and away from tweaking everything manually. The key parts of a game will be heavily directed by creatives, but AI will enable modes of creativity that just aren't possible now.
For example, today dialog is largely fixed dialog trees and templates, but now we can also choose to have completely dynamic conversations where the designer writes up the character's bio, personality, and mannerisms, rather than the dialog. The Darth Vader event in Fortnite was an early glimpse of this. It'll only get better from there.

Gonna have to write an essay on cringe at this point. Everytime it comes up it fascinates me. Cringe is an emotion that dominates high schools and polite society. The fear to be seen as embarrassing existing in corners of the internet where we play make believe games is hilarious
Avoiding cringe as a principle is a fast track to being a fragile facsimile of a person.
Cringe as a critique is useless, it reveals more about the critic than the subject.
You can dislike media, but it only becomes cringe when it reflects off your own shame, fear, insecurity.
