155 Years of U.S. vs. Canada Economic Growth: The Historic Widening Gap
1️⃣ From 1870-2006, both grew at exactly
2% annually.
2️⃣ U.S. income per capita stayed ~18% higher throughout.
3️⃣ Since 2006, the gap in income per capita widened-hitting a 43% high in 2024, the largest in 155 years!
Why is the gap widening?
Why isn’t Canada growing at its historical 2%?
Is this a temporary divergence or a long-term decoupling from the U.S. economy?

Canada has become economically weak and vulnerable to the whims of our largest export market…and Ottawa continues to dither.
Parliament could do 3 things today that would immediately turn our economy around, create hundreds of thousands of jobs and generate trillions in wealth for Canadians without spending a single tax dollar:
1️⃣ Scrap Oil and Gas Production Cap
2️⃣ Overhaul “No New Pipelines” Law
3️⃣ Eliminate Tanker Ban
The national economic self-sabotage has to stop. Canadians deserve leaders in Ottawa with the courage to unleash our full potential, restore prosperity, and make our country strong again.
We can do this!

The path toward a stronger and richer America is clear: we must cut taxes, rein in reckless spending and end Washington’s addiction to debt. Only then can we restore economic prosperity, preserve individual freedom and ensure that the American Dream remains alive for generations to come.

For those thinking Carney offers a new economic direction from Trudeau:
1️⃣ Consumer carbon tax = Producer carbon tax
2️⃣ More gov INVESTMENT = more gov SPENDING = more inflation = one step closer to gov debt crisis
3️⃣ Keeping Bill C-69 = no new pipelines and no mining = no energy sector growth
4️⃣ “Build Homes Canada Agency” = more bureaucracy = VERY COSTLY home building strategy
SAME POLICIES, DIFFERENT FACE.
Obviously, Elon is pro trade!
Please help Trump to focus on useful policies: cutting government expenses, deregulation, cutting taxes, etc.
He is just wasting his time on tariffs….
Mark Carney’s policies are TRULY harmful for economic growth.
He is the fan of socializing industries and expanding the role of government in EVERYTHING.
How many times it should be tested that socialism results in disastrous economic consequences?

The choice facing Canadians: do the Carney Liberals deserve a fourth term after they doubled housing costs and made Canada poorer and weaker, or is it time to elect a new Conservative government that will actually build homes?
Voting against minimum wage is the most pro worker vote EVER!
Why excluding many from job market through minimum wage? Why not letting the poor enters the job market, learn, get experience and grow?
Incompetent Canadian politicians have escalated the fight with Trump!
Isn’t it obvious that Trump values personal relationships? Aside from Danielle Smith, who even tried to build a good one?
When Doug Ford says, ‘I won’t hesitate to shut off electricity to the U.S. with a smile on my face,’ what does he expect? That Trump will apologize and drop all tariffs? NO—he’ll fight back like HELL!
Elon has received at most $50B in taxpayer money for his companies (EV tax credits, NASA funding for SpaceX, etc. - Source: Grok). But he has saved taxpayers over $180B through DOGE.
He risks all his businesses globally—he was widely liked, but after supporting Trump, 50% of Americans and even more internationally now HATE him. Radical left lunatics can attack him for his views, but they can’t say he’s doing this for money!
The only reason I pay for X Premium is to support Elon. Wish I had the money to buy a Tesla!
The head of ANY industry of America strongly believes that tariffs are necessary. Because they want to keep their industries protected from competition to make money at the expense of higher prices for consumers! They’re 100% INCORRECT!!!!
Trump’s uncertainty effect on the U.S. & Canada:
🇺🇸 U.S.: Investors won’t bring businesses back unless they believe tariffs are permanent. Opening a plant has high fixed costs, and no one knows if Trump’s tariffs will last—what if the next admin scraps them? What if even Trump removes them himself?
🇨🇦 Canada: Even if Canada goes pro-business, firms relying on U.S. exports will hesitate to invest or expand in Canada. If Trump keeps shifting trade rules, Pierre’s ‘bring it back home’ plan won’t work as expected.
Not sure why Trump is so obsessed with tariffs—he’s definitely faced pushback from all economists, even from allies like Elon, who supports almost everything he does except tariffs.
1️⃣ If his goal is to push companies to open U.S. factories, it’s unlikely to work. Setting up a factory has high fixed costs, and tariffs aren’t guaranteed to last—even under Trump, he keeps postponing and making exceptions.
2️⃣ Maybe it’s about balancing the budget. He can’t raise income or sales taxes, so tariffs act as a tax without much political backlash—fits his ‘America First’ rhetoric. As long as they don’t redistribute the revenue, at least, he can balance the budget.
3️⃣ Is this just a negotiation tactic to push for real free trade by getting others to drop their tariffs? Hope so! That would be ideal.
It is actually about access to cheap goods. The whole point of competitive free market economy is to have a mechanism to deliver goods and services at the lowest possible cost to the consumers.
Tariffs create a protected industry that doesn’t care about competition, rather, they will only focus on lobbying to get more protection from the government.
Treasury Secretary Bessent says the American dream is not about 'access to cheap goods' cnbc.com/2025/03/06/treasury…
This is VERY important post by Trump which confirms LPC and Trudeau NEED the trade war to stay in power!!

Because Nazis are often labeled far-right, but many don’t know that the right isn’t monotonic in economic freedom.
The left moves in one direction—less economic freedom, with communism as the extreme. The right values free markets, but the far-right, with its extreme protectionism and nationalism, rejects them.
So if someone has extreme stand on economic freedom, that wrongly makes them far right.
