BREAKING: 8 US Marines were injured when an Iranian cruise missile struck a US-contracted commercial ship they were aboard in the Strait of Hormuz two weeks ago, suffering smoke inhalation and possible traumatic brain injuries, per three US officials to NBC.
The Marines were on a US-contracted commercial vessel rather than a US Navy ship. The attack had not been previously reported.
The Pentagon quietly added 8 Marines to its wounded tally this week.
