Before Tokyo’s famous wholesale fish market relocated in 2018, artist @jaketilson spent over a decade documenting the heart of Japan's fish trade.
Through his long-term project Tsukiji Reimagined, Tilson created an extraordinary tribute to the bustling market. Using assemblages, micro-architecture, typography and collages, he captured the energy of the stalls, cashier booths, and rich atmosphere of everyday seafood culture at Tsukiji.
Our current exhibition ‘Japan: Between the Ocean and the Seas’ features one of the project pieces from Tilson's Tsukiji Reimagined, White Conduit Projects, 2023.
Weekdays 09:30–17:30 (Closed on Bank Holidays)

Dear Labour Government,
Please rethink the nation’s relationship to the arts. Basically, stop thinking of them as a luxury. They’re not. The arts are a central part of what makes us human: a priority; our song to the heavens. All societies are judged by the art they leave behind.
We are delighted to announce the Yumi Katayama’s 2nd solo show at White Conduit Projects
Opens 20 June
Katayama is best known for her paintings depicting multi-faceted pictorial dramas, which always shift and reflect her mood, the places and trivial incidents she encountered.
