The basic rate of Universal Credit is £85 a week for a single adult.
It doesn’t provide enough support for people to afford the things we all need to survive and live with dignity.
This can’t continue. Universal Credit should protect people from going without the essentials.
ALT Quote from Helen Edgley from Abergele Foodbank, which reads: "It is not a case of just cutting back for one week, try living on it week in week out, month in month out, in a cold, damp flat with no food in the cupboards."
