Full text of the scene at the Tower of Joy when Lyanna learns of the deaths of Brandon and Rickard, as well as the start of the Rebellion | Part 1/2 💔 (The Tower of Joy. Lyanna is sitting on the ground, looking shocked and overcome by grief. She has tears in her eyes. Rhaegar is kneeling next to her. He has his hand hand on his back, comforting her. Oswell and Arthur are standing.) Lyanna: That such an order can be given… I can almost grasp. ‘Tis the lone raving of a rakehell disposition. That it could be enforced beggars sense, though there are those sworn to obey. But to think that countless others simply watched, gawping, mute at the spectacle… is decency so easily quelled by fear? Today would have been Brandon's wedding. Oswell: Rhaegar, banners are rising in warlike rebellion. Rhaegar: Vengeance for a bloody act that will only spill further blood. The king has brought it on himself, I’ll none of it. I'll denounce my father, renounce my cursed name! Go, Arthur, Oswell. I've no need of your royal protection, as I plan to live out my days in joyful privacy. Let them play their game of thrones, ‘tis naught to me, or Lyanna. Arthur: My prince, she is its very scepter. I beg you, end this madness. Oswell: Watch your words. Rhaegar: Nay, sir, spare not my pride. Only the weak demand flattery in place of truth. Speak freely. Arthur: I know what it is to doubt. This snowy cloak has oft felt like an iron pillory. Yet I'll not unspeak my oath, lest all further words be hollow as air. There are bonds between people, from the king to a beggar, and when even one is broken, the whole world risks fracture. Lyanna is betrothed. You, my prince, have spoken vows of marriage, and bear solemn duty to your children. These may seem small promises, but in breaking them, a man and his heir are dead, and the realm goes to sword, severing further bonds. Each insult salt in the path to further wrong till there be no loyalty, only private grievance. We craved peace, a united realm, devoted your life to prophecy… Rhaegar: Prophecy be damned! I didn't take Lyanna to please gods. I took her in spite of them, in spite of it all. For once, I made a choice that could not have been foretold. Whatever chains bound us, we have broken. Arthur: And in so doing, broken the world. ✐ᝰ halidki (Part 2 in replies soon!)

Full text of the scene at the Tower of Joy when Lyanna learns of the deaths of Brandon and Rickard, as well as the start of the Rebellion | Part 2/2 💔 Lyanna: Gentle ser, the world has long been shattered. Each generation is handed not a clean parchment, but scrawled and wrinkled palimpsest, stained with bloody fingerprints. Think you the realm would be remedied by returning me home? I have no home. Winterfell's lord and heir were slaughtered. Will you deliver me to Storm's End and a man I love not, or to King's Landing and my father's executioner? Do you truly believe that yielding up my little life will becalm Robert's wrath, or mollify the tantrums of the tyrant? Will they bring back my father, my brother? Oswell: I'm sorry, my lady. You are blameless in this. Lyanna: Nay, I bear guilt as surely as if I had lit the flames myself! Mine own hands have crushed Brandon's throat. I was not abducted. I am here of my own will, though you shall think me mad to tell it. As a child, I dreamed of wolves. I dreamed as a wolf. I saw through its eyes. I killed with its teeth and howled its howl. Even awake, I could dream myself into the woods. But as I left girlhood, I forgot how to dream until you. I dreamed with you. I sang with your voice and thought your thoughts. As you dreamed of dragons, as you thought of me. Rhaegar: I felt you with me. Lyanna: But blind to my own life, my only thought was ‘come and find me, come and take me’. I knew what it would mean, but I didn't stop calling to you. I am traveling through the riverlands. Come to me. I am heading to Brandon's wedding. Come to me. I'll soon be wed myself. Please come to me! Before the sun rose, you found a clearing in which to wait for my father's carriages, and when you entered the woods… Rhaegar: You were waiting for me. Lyanna: And in that moment, I killed them. Rhaegar: No. Lyanna: All those who now fall, they die because of… love. But how can that be? There must be some purpose, some divine plan. Else, why would it feel this way? This pain is beyond the bounds of my body! It must be from the gods, for how else do they instruct us if not through our hearts? (Pause) Show me the prophetic scrolls. Teach me how to read them. Rhaegar: They are meaningless riddles. Nothing is foretold. Lyanna: Brandon, father, their deaths cannot be for nothing! Please, if you lack faith in your gods, then please, my love, believe in me. (Scene ends) ✐ᝰ brielaelaa on IG (Part 1 of this scene linked in replies!)
