Loved celebrating my birthday at school. Each class that came in sang to me, a sweet Kinder class made me a sign, and another class made me cards. It was a great day that ended with chocolate cake made by my daughter. 🎂
Ahoy Me Hearties! We had a fun Friday in the Wernli Library. We kicked off Talk Like a Pirate Day with our Future Wildcats. They created their very own pet parrot. Then, our first graders had a special read aloud visit from our namesake Dr. Wernli. @NISDWernli @NISDLib

Thank you @Madrigalshelves for making learning come alive 🏕️ 📖 @WernliLibrary
It’s Camp Read S’More at the @NISDWernli library today! Students got to enjoy some books by the “campfire,” in tents, and with flashlights. They also learned how they can keep reading all summer long! #NISDLibraries #TeamNorthside @nisd @WernliLibrary

I love Fiesta. More Fiesta Fun in the library. The Mexican Hat Dance with first grade and old fashioned noise makers with kinder. 🎊🎉💃
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! 🪅🎉Fiesta time in San Antonio means medals and paper flowers. Our 2nd graders designed their own Fiesta medals and our 3rd graders are learning the craft of the very important paper flower, a San Antonio must! @NISDWernli @NISDLib
And a HUGE thank you to @techcoachsmith for his help and support to get 120 medals designed, checked, and printed in record time.

Tonight was the Grand Opening of Wernli Kinder Reader’s Restaurant 🍽️ Our guests enjoyed servings of brilliant and brave chefs who read from their menu selections and earned sticker-tips. Our guests gave us a 5 ⭐️ rating! @lorimshaw @mrsfeldt5 #RootEdWernli
5th grade had fun finding a “lucky” book in the rainbow of book covers. 📚🙌 @NISDWernli @NISDLib
Kids are AMAZING! Our 4th graders learned about the Texas Revolution and took a field trip to the Alamo, so I said “Let’s build the Alamo in Minecraft Education @PlayCraftLearn. I think I said WOW about 100 times today! @NISDWernli @NISDLib @techcoachsmith
It was a magical way to end the week! I was the Book Fairy Godmother at the first grade fairy tale ball. Dancing, trivia, and so much magic. 🧚🦄🧌. @NISDWernli @NISDLib @AguilarLearning @BridgetMadden19 @scmarsh_tx @mrs_jones1312 @Lisa17Esquivel
This “old” activity never gets old when sweet kindergarteners experience it for the first time. Loved their excitement and enthusiasm to help save the three pigs AGAIN from the big bad wolf.
The big bad wolf returned today to the @NISDWernli library but couldn’t get to the 3 little pigs! My awesome kindergarteners were collaborators, innovators, and critical thinkers while building the pigs houses. Thank you @Madrigalshelves for such an amazing and engaging activity!
