This week Reception would like to recommend the series of ‘Oi’ books by Kes Gray and Jim Field. They couldn’t just choose one as we love them all. The children recommend them because “they’re rhyming and they’re good to learn. They have so many rhyming words in.” 🐸🐶

We had a great time learning all about farm animals in science today. We linked them to all the animals we see in Croxteth Farm and loved talking about our visits to here. We also read ‘What the ladybird heard’which has lots of our farm animals in 🐖🐄 @WellesbourneSch

What fun maths today! We built towers for Rapunzel, carefully choosing what 3D shapes would balance to make the best best tower and even hold Rapunzel.this took lots of talking about the 2D shape faces within each shape and lots of team work ⭐️😃 @WellesbourneSch

Using our fine motor skills to colour in pictures of objects that begin with today’s sound in phonics - ‘m’. Can you ask your child to tell you some words that start with any of the sounds that we have done so far? (s, a, t, p, i, n, m) ? 💭 @WellesbourneSch

Lots of RSR put their fine motor skills to the test today to create a mouse. There was lots of cutting involved ✂️Our phonics sound was ‘m’ today - so this was a cute way to turn the actual letter M into a cute mouse @WellesbourneSch 🐭
