Phase 2 VOC testing of the dry rub tattoo on our KN95 mask is in.
Phase 1 (filtration) barely changed. You can rewatch that test on the original thread.
The next concern was: are the tattoos releasing VOCs into our KN95 mask?
So we paid SGS, one of the most trusted labs in the world, to run a 51-chemical panel using GC-MS on the actual @WellBeforeHQ product.
Benzene. Not detected.
Methylene chloride. Not detected.
Chloroform. Not detected.
Toluene. Not detected.
Every single one: not detected.
So, should @WellBeforeHQ launch official dry rub tattoo's for our KN95 and N95 masks as a real product? 😎😷

If you asked me in 2020 what 2026 would look like, moving into a 50,000+ sq ft warehouse in Dallas wouldn’t have crossed my mind.

FYI, ACON is launching a new Flowflex COVID/Flu/RSV antigen test in the coming weeks, which is now available for pre-order.
Listed sensitivities (agreement with PCR):
• SARS2 - 91.6%
• FluA - 92.9%
• FluB - 92.9%
• RSV - 94.1%
$16/each at CVS and $20/each at Pharmalynk. Needless to say - disappointing, but predictable. I can’t fault them too much, they do need to roll FDA costs into the product for an increasingly shrinking market, but it’s still not a reasonable or accessible price.
The pricing is competitive if you’re planning on buying less than 5 tests. For 5+, it becomes cheaper to purchase the Fluorecare tests from Altruan, even with the substantial increases in shipping & tariff costs (the tests themselves are ~$2, shipping is ~$60).
Fluorecare has the following listed sensitivities, in the same order, which are almost identical: 92.9%, 92.0%, 90.9%, 94.5%.
However, this independent study (pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/article…) found much worse results: 77.8%, 80.8%, 65.9%, and only 41.5% for RSV.

WOW our carbon nano-fiber mask works insanely well! I couldn’t smell the cycloethalyne at all. And this stuff smells horrible.
Our mask will block most, if not all, smells. The final version will be in a boat/fish/KF94 style. Super excited.

Dry and wet rub transfer tattoos are showing great early results in our testing, safe on masks, skin, clothing, etc. Greater independent lab testing is next.
If @WellBeforeHQ gave you the ability to create your own custom tattoo designs for masks or almost anything you use, would that interest you?
We put dry rub tattoos on @WellBeforeHQ KN95 & N95 masks. Why? Because they’re badass.
Early test results show zero impact on filtration, but we’re not done testing yet.
If this gets at least 50 likes, I’ll post the test video so you can see the results yourself. 😎

We’ve stayed away from valve because the demand seems low. Do people really want our masks with valves? What are the consumer use cases?

We actually made baby sized masks at @WellBeforeHQ. They were super small and cute. If this gets enough likes I’ll consider bringing them back, new and improved.
But will need a lot of crowd sourced feedback on how we can improve it for babies and toddlers.
