Amazing research from Weisener Lab's @vanmensel! Check it out here
doi.org/10.1016/j.scitotenv.… Check out our newest publication. We successfully sequenced microbial RNA associated with freshwater flocs and identified pathogenic-related gene expression. This research is the first to investigate the microbial metatranscriptome of suspended sediment..
Great job by @vanmensel presenting "The symbiotic relationship of suspended sediment and pathogenicity in freshwater ecosystems" this morning at @goldschmidt2021. You're going to want to check out the recording if you missed it!

A couple of our amazing researchers are making presentations this week at IAGLR! Come check them out! #IAGLR21
#FeatureFridayWeisenerLab: @nadia_tarakki joined us in 2019. Working closely with the oil and gas sector, Nadia’s research will focus on characterizing sources of gas migration by integrating metatranscriptomics and geochemical approaches.

Automated water quality sensors are great for real time data! But desensitization by biofouling, particularly in turbid waters, can pose challenges to accurate data collection. Routine upkeep and grab sample confirmations can never hurt! Great publication, Yu-Ting Chen!
Exciting new ErieWatch publication on the impacts of biofouling on insitu phosphorus analyzers during long term deployments. Congratulations Yu-Ting Chen! And thank you @RAEON_ for instrument access! sciencedirect.com/science/ar… #phosphorus #insitu #HABs

#FeatureFridayWeisenerLab: @falkemup started with the lab completing a masters and has continued working on a PhD focusing on how microbial communities work together to breakdown and store unwanted contaminants and nutrients associated with agriculture and industrial land use
Happy #Internationalwomensday with some special appreciation to the women who keep our lab group running! #ChooseToChallenge @GLIERUWINDSOR
