After the past couple of days, I think it's time for me to close up shop on Xwitter. I may redownload the app to promote some of the comic projects I'm working on, but until then, you can find me on the other tech overlord's app.

I was quiet about the #DCSoWhite thing. I knew it was gonna fizzle out. So instead I did a test.
I went to every single one of the creators of it and asked for them to review my book. Either I already asked them to or did it eventually.
Take a guess how many actually did it..

sorry I'm doing something substantive to ensure black creators continue to be employed & tapped for new projects, especially when the boycott organizers didn't talk to them about the multiple black-led projects we know have been actively in the production pipeline for months

As a Black artist, I can tell you that not supporting Black artists/writers does affect us. Many of us work hard to be where we are, and not supporting them (us) can actually make more harm to the comunity. Ofc i will still be boycotting the white on-goings+

Multiple people who work in LCBS have stated that supporting black and queer creators IS the best way to show support. Any support is better than none, in my opinion. Completely cutting off these marginalized creators, does not support their current work at all. 2/3

Damn the boycott rly is falling apart quicker than I thought it would but I can't rly say I'm surprised given the organiser's actions in the past 🫠 I will still be only supporting black creatives and other titles lead by women, lgbtq+ and other marginalised groups.

I mentioned this yesterday but this thread elaborates on it way better than I did.
There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding the current #DCBlackout boycott. Personal feelings about its leaders aside, all I have to say is that if you’re choosing to participate, you need to understand that your pull list is a financial commitment your LCS made months ago.

Starting a boycott where the win condition is something you already know is actively being worked on behind the scenes just seems like insider clout trading.

“This comic is about hating average Americans” “DC Comics wants you dead”
The “average Americans” and “you” in question:

Start small. 4 page stories. Work on writing one every week.
You'll have 52 scripts in a year. With some measure of talent, some will be good. Find anthologies. Or put them up yourself. Find collaborators who want to experiment and create and put out work.
'Tis what I did.

Awesome, thank you. I actually really want to get into writing comics, my wife thinks I am really good and should pursue it. I’ve never gambled on myself though and come from an engineering background so it’s a bit scary trying to make that change.
