According to a September 2026 report by UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund:
* Approximately 20 million children across 21 countries experienced online sexual exploitation and abuse.
* 15 million children were exposed to unwanted sexual content.
* Around 9 million children were forced into sexual conversations or pressured to send sexual images.
* More than 40% of incidents were never disclosed to anyone.
* Less than 1% of cases were reported to the relevant authorities.
