It's summer...it gets hot. But that does not mean you are not at risk for heat related issues. And with extreme heat like the eastern US is experiencing, it's more important than ever. Remember to take frequent breaks when working outside, wear light colored clothing and drink plenty of fluids. #heatsafety #summer

Most across the state are sweltering with heat indices in the 100s. Some spots in SW NJ are topping out 115+. If this dew point reading isn't overdone, then a station in Mannington Township is reporting a heat index of 122 degrees!!馃珷 #NJwx #heatwave #summer

These heat indices are no joke. Humidity making it feel downright oppressive out there in NJ with 100+ head indices. Drink plenty of water and stay cool. #NJwx #heatwave

A unfortunate catastrophic situation has been unfolding from LA to AL this afternoon. Training tropical downpours leading to some areas picking over 10". some pushing a foot... And many of those spots are not done yet, with another 3-6"+ possible on top of that! #flooding #MSwx #LAwx #ALwx

It's the last day of this summer heat stretch, and it looks like we're in for some potential severe weather. A ripe environment in place late afternoon into early tonight. Keep an eye out from MD TO NJ for damaging wind gusts and even localized flooding. #NJwx #PAwx #MDwx #DEwx
