Looking forward to #MarcusAllen and I testifying before @JudiciaryGOP’s @Weaponization Subcommittee this morning.
When we testified there 16 months ago, Marcus was smeared with the lie that he was a threat to our national security. But one year later, the FBI reinstated his security clearance and agreed to restore 27 months of backpay. This amounts to an official admission by the FBI that claims about his disloyalty to the U.S. were false.
His clearance should never have been revoked in the first place. In the rest of my opening statement below, I explain how it happened and what next steps could prevent it from happening again.

The DHS outsourced censorship to the Election Integrity Partnership (EIP), comprised of four organizations: the Stanford Internet Observatory, the University of Washington’s Center for an Informed Public, Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab, and Graphika.
During the 2020 election:
•120 analysts monitored 15 tech platforms
•22 Million tweets labeled “misinformation”
•Entire “misinformation narratives” targeted for platform-wide throttling
The EIP claimed every "repeat spreader of election misinformation" was a Trump supporter.
The cancelers are being canceled.

Those questioning Marcus Allen's patriotism and loyalty were wrong. 🇺🇸 He is completely and totally vindicated by the FBI reinstating his security clearance and paying him 27 months of back pay and benefits.
A year ago Marcus and I were getting ready to testify before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Weaponization. The night before the hearing, the FBI sent a letter to the committee that was immediately leaked to the press. That letter made completely unsubstantiated allegations about Mr. Allen, some of which he had never even been questioned about. Multiple news outlets--the @nytimes, @washingtonpost, @cnn and others--reported on those allegations uncritically. (Some didn't even report on the hearing--just the FBI letter the day before it.)
Then at the hearing Delegate Stacy Plaskett said in her opening statement: "My colleagues have brought in these former agents, men who lost their security clearances because they were a threat to our national security, who out of malice or ignorance or both have put partisan agenda above the oath they swore to serve this country and protect its national security."
Threats to national security don't get their security clearances reinstated. Every one of these individuals who made or parroted false allegations about Mr. Allen should be ashamed of themselves.
