I really recommend going to conferences as a way to grow in security. If you’re shy it sounds counter-productive but you should defo try and speak, then people will come up to you and ask you things which makes the whole experience so much easier

So I’ve been using Burp community for a few months, have made enough in bounties with community to buy Burp pro several times over at this point. You do not need pro to find bugs.
