Museum Collections 💐 Glass Perfume Bottle
Researchers found this fragile bottle in a St. Augustine historic well. Because it was found in wet soil, the vial must be stored in water to keep it intact. 🎧 Listen to more with archaeologist Gifford Waters: floridamuseum.ufl.edu/100-ye…

April is Citizen Science Month — and we’re going live.
Acts of Science: Connected is a weekly series of guided Zoom events where anyone can contribute to real scientific research, together.
What’s an Act of Science? One measurable contribution to research. Classifying an image. Transcribing a document. Identifying a species. Spotting a comet. Every click counts.
This April, we’re working toward 2.50 MILLION Acts of Science to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.
Here’s what’s coming up:
April 2 — Mars weather with NASA scientists (@DoNASAScience)
April 10 — Transcribe Reconstruction-era records (@smithsonian)
April 16 — Play Stall Catchers for Alzheimer’s research (@SciCatchers)
April 22 — Classify wildlife for Earth Day (@WDNR)
April 29 — Help discover comets (@the_zooniverse)
Multiple time slots. All live on Zoom. Join for as much or as little as you’d like.
Plus, REPORT your Act of Science and receive a free year-long digital subscription to @newscientist!
Science doesn’t just happen in labs. It works better when we show up.
Register for an event. Make your Act of Science count. Presented by SciStarter.

🌱 Sustainability in Action at the BioDT Final Event 🌍
Two weeks ago, the BioDT Final Event brought together the #biodiversity and #digitaltwin communities in Rome for a powerful exchange of science, insights, and collaboration. But beyond the content, the event also reflected a deeper commitment: sustainability in practice.
Taking inspiration from Lavoisier’s Law of Conservation of Matter – “nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed” – our partner, @TrustITServices, helped design an event experience that minimised waste and maximised positive impact.
🌿 Locally sourced catering with compostable packaging
🌿 Leftover food shared with colleagues to avoid waste
🌿 No printed flyers – instead, plantable seed paper badges that grow into wildflowers
🌿 Eco-friendly, plantable giveaways replacing traditional merchandise
Because an event that showcases climate resilience and biodiversity research should also walk the talk. In BioDT, sustainability goes beyond research. Read more: trust-itservices.com/news/no…
