After a long, hot summer, a few splashes of rain are very welcome. The plants certainly appreciated the unexpected watering. Now we're just crossing our fingers & hoping that we have a normal winter rain-wise. Not a winter like last year, with its terrible floods...

Finally got a hammock back up! This time, not in a garden, strung up between two trees. This time, under the roof of the roof terrace, where it's shaded and a bit cooler, with lovely views across to the mountains. A gorgeous spot to relax...
The magic paint, which we hope, will go a long way to helping to seal the floor of the roof terrace, so that we don't experience again the kind of leaks we did in the winter. Still have some work to do on the terrace, including extending the guttering, but this is a big start...
Artwork finally framed, and on the wall, in what we now call the 70’s Room. The big space on the first floor, that all of the other rooms lead off. It just feels 70’s. It houses our books & vinyl & retro chairs & lamp - and two fabulous chocolate brown shag pile rugs. #interiors
A wonderful example of a really well considered and executed #renovation of an Andalucian #townhouse, now a small #boutiquehotel, called Hostel Aljibe, in #Archidona. It was such a pleasure to stay in such beautiful, and relaxing, surroundings.

When we bought the house, the metal grille, to prevent you falling down into the courtyard was very utilitarian. Nothing beautiful or elegant about it. And, held on by *rope* 😬
We designed the pattern for the new one and had it made by a local metalworker. It is beautiful.
A very tasty dinner of baked ricotta pasta with mushrooms in a tomato & red wine. Served up in our lovely new sardine bowls.
Our local bazaar is full of gems like these. Incredibly well made and not too pricey. We’re amassing a nice sardine set, currently.

Nice lamp from good old IKEA. Not quite the same as our cloud pendants, but similar enough to complement, it's made from 100% recycled polyester and gives off a beautiful glow. Like the detail of the curved metal powder coated stand, too. It's the small details...
When we changed our lives again, & moved from #Istria to #Andalucia, this was how it started. A blank page. We've now amassed a lot of experience, ready to share.

If you're looking for an inexpensive, but statementy lightshade, these waxed paper (so very sturdy) pendants from IKEA, are amazing. You can shape them yourself and the shadows they cast are beautiful. A HUGE recommend. (Cord set comes separate!)
