Today we've launched a new requirement that all applicants must demonstrate how their research will address existing inequalities in health and social care as a condition of funding. Applicants will now be required to show how inclusion is being built into all stages of the research lifecycle. nihr.ac.uk/news/inclusion-no…

I've only been working with the stroke community for a little over a year - each time, i'm struck by their passion, committment, and incredible dedication to supporting stroke survivors in their recovery. I want to start there because i think it would tell only half the story...
Latest figures released by the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP), show that in-hospital stroke care has not improved enough in the last 10 years. Thrombectomy, & basic care are still being delivered inconsistently across different regions. bit.ly/4fzKnKq

Half of respondents worry about having another stroke. This can leave people feel exhausted physically and emotionally. Brain responds to threat and our beliefs that we are not safe.
A big thank you to everyone who took part in our beneficiary survey this year. We received responses from 450 stroke survivors, 144 family members, friends, and carers, and 41 healthcare professionals. πŸ’™ πŸ’š Find out what the survey told us here: buff.ly/3MkDjV1
