#ACEN2022 was jam packed. So many great presentations to choose from, so many I couldn’t fit in my schedule. Great representation from @Deakin. It was fantastic to finally meet so many people from across the #WIL space in person after collaborating online.

Great to see the work of Srikar and the first round of graduates emerge from this program. Well done to Sameer, the team at ManuFutures, and broader @Deakin teams involved in getting this program going. Bigger things are coming.

Taking a break from talking to parents and future students at the #DeakinOpenDay. Plenty of great reasons to study with the @DeakinBusiness at the waterfront. Having this view everyday is just a bonus.

I agree with @DrGiesler, I have taught online seminars at @DeakinBusiness for a decade. I never expected video (or even audio) presence in seminars. Yes, broadband & tech have improved, but why do some people continue to equate visual presence as engagement?

Great reminder for academics moving between cloud and on-campus teaching not to push students to have cameras on for your own comfort. A visual on your screen does not necessarily mean more engagement, and a lack of visual does not equal disengagement.
🔶Why #students have #cameras #off? 🔶Why #educators like to have cameras on? 🔶And, importantly, do we really need to have cameras on? Important questions for next semester. Tnx @LindsayMasland for the visual. cae.appstate.edu/sites/defau… #sydteach2021 @USYD_BCD @DewaWardak #edtech

Glad to have helped get @DeakinBusiness WIL students involved in this project consistently over the last couple of years. I am looking forward to seeing the car hit the road in the future.
Throughout 2020 the #ascendteam has welcomed 350 students across 4 faculties at Deakin University. See how each faculty is helping to make the project possible! #ascendtoaction #collaboration #innovation #elevation

Hey @ascend_wsc, see how you go at the Targa Rally events next year, but this could be the next step after the BWSC. Maybe even supply @LewisHamilton and his X44 team.

This is a nice summary of some of the common arguments you see in “discussions” about the fires. You can find similar tactics in threads about a number of topics when passion and a level of misinformation/closed mindedness/ignorance are involved.
A thread on how the #fires disaster is being framed by climate-change deniers. Firstly, they say the Australian landscape has always burnt - pointing to historical examples of huge, disastrous fires.

Based on today’s session, it seems like no one sets out for to work in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (#SoTL), rather they stumble into it like a hidden doorway. But once you find that door, you want to keep exploring the ideas within. Thanks @KiftSally & @CRADLEdeakin

Hi @Optus if the Internet is going to be down for 8hrs, then you should properly inform people. Twice in 10 days I have lost key work hours.
Replying to @IAmPaulHarrison
But @IAmPaulHarrison, Australia doesn't want fast internet...

Sent my #thesis (consumer engagement with brands via @TwitterAU ) for examination yesterday. First night without it looming large: amazing.
