Inflation is RED hot in the US.
For anyone not keeping track, US CPI inflation is now nearly double the Fed's 2% target and US PPI Inflation is more than triple that target.
PPI inflation was expected to fall in August, but instead it surged to 6.3%, its second highest level in 4 years.
And, month-over-month Headline PPI inflation surged +1.3%, more than doubling the +0.6% expected and the second largest jump since March 2021.
Meanwhile, month-over-month Core PPI inflation came in +133% above expectations.
The prices Americans are seeing now will look cheap in 12 to 24 months.
All you can do is own assets.

We are witnessing a historic shift.
The annual spread between the S&P 500's earnings yield and the 10Y Note yield is down to -1.5 percentage points, its lowest since 2009.
Since 2022, this yield difference has fallen -440 basis points, its largest 5-year decline since the 1970s.
As a result, the S&P 500's equity risk premium is on track to post its 3rd consecutive negative annual reading, the longest streak since 2002.
This suggests that, on a yield basis, theoretically less risky 10Y Treasuries are now more attractive than the S&P 500.
In other words, investors are receiving a higher yield from Treasuries than from the S&P 500, despite the additional risk of owning stocks.
Historically, a negative equity risk premium has been associated with strong risk appetite and stretched equity valuations.
We expect an eventful Q4 ahead.

I am grateful for all the friends I talk to regularly, all geared towards success through different pathways in life. Our conversations are always productive, and there is much to exchange and share within our respective domains of expertise.
My good friend Cyle often chats with me about investing, and although new to his journey, he is very bright. To make a long story short: I presented him with what I call the "do nothing" portfolio held in a tax-advantaged account that will compound through thick and thin with a long enough runway ahead.
The portfolio is built on four ETFs weighted specifically for total global exposure and factor growth:
• 50% $VTI • 25% $VXUS • 15% $AVUV • 10% $AVDV
The donut chart below illustrates the asset breakdown of this portfolio.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but how can the United States continue to afford such an anchoring debt load?
Net interest payments are running at roughly $3 billion per day. We are approaching $1 trillion in interest payments for FY2026, and that will only exacerbate with elevated yields.
Our interest payments surpass spending on defense, making it one of the largest budget items, after Social Security.
Quite frankly, if you don't own capital assets, you are perpetually screwed.

This is the kind of delusion that quite literally destroys nations. We are nowhere near a golden age.

Think about the implications this has, both good and bad.
On the bright side, the talent gap will continue to widen, so those who are chosen and decide to embark on a glorious quest to achieve greatness can quite literally clench greatness in their fingers.
No retreat, no mercy.
1 in 3 men aged 20 and older are neither working nor looking for a job in the US, per WSJ

This statistic for men aged 20+ includes many retirees; the labor force participation rate for prime-age men (25-54) is 89.2%, meaning only about 1 in 9 are neither working nor looking for work. bls.gov/web/empsit/cps…

I guarantee that any supporter of this birthright travesty will be left disenchanted after referring to the founder father's testimony on this very issue.
In fact, they feared foreign influence and were highly concerned about conferring automatic citizenship to people who we consider enemies.
Peak clown world.

This metric will be increasingly interesting to watch post-Luce delivery.
If Ferrari continues to keep production tight, we can safely assume that they aren't flooding the market or forcing allocations.
If management can reiterate long backlogs, this will signal sustained demand for core ICE/hybrid models without needing to "force" Luce.

Calculating portfolio beta and the Sharpe ratio is essential for any serious investor committed to beating the market into perpetuity.
Together, these metrics provide the rigorous, quantifiable framework that separates emotional or story-driven investing from a repeatable process capable of compounding wealth through full market cycles.
If you aren't maintaining a decisive, mathematically driven edge, how could you possibly call yourself an investor?

There is real risk of stagflation creeping in.
Higher energy costs will act as a tax on growth. Imagine this: businesses and households reduce spending, capital expenditures slow down, and suddenly, you’re left with weak economic momentum and persistent inflation.
This is precisely why I emphasize to my small but dedicated audience the significance of financial literacy and stability.

Rome didn’t “fall” in a single day; instead, it gradually disintegrated over time due to the erosion of social cohesion and economic pressures. Today, the United States faces historic levels of polarization, insurmountable debt, strained border and migration issues, and questions about its global role. It’s a sad day for the United States of America. No sitting president should have to endure multiple assassination attempts.

Irregardless of whether you’re invested in $ADBE or not, this comparison is a logical fallacy. Charter’s drop stems from structural cable-industry headwinds that no buybacks can fix, unlike Adobe’s high-margin, growing SaaS business where buybacks will be highly accretive on top of organic cash-flow expansion. Let’s discuss this further if you can demonstrate a structural decline in the fundamentals.

Adobe's Serious Buyback Math
Total shares the $25 billion can retire now:
25,000,000,000 / 239.62 = 104.33 million shares
FCF alone generates more than $10 billion a year. This is enough to buyback 43 million shares annually at current prices with zero debt.
Even spreading the full $25 billion evenly over 4 years:
6,250,000,000 / 239.62 = 26.08 million shares retired per year
Compound over 4 years (with any FCF growth + shrinking base) and you’re looking at 25–35%+ total share reduction. Funded 100% organically. This is textbook elite capital allocation.
Heads I win, tails I don’t lose much.
