The future of global trade needs infrastructure that understands it. We’re proud to bring commodities—metals, minerals, food, fuel—onchain with Avalanche. From programmable finance to verifiable identity, Watr is where real-world scale meets Web3 speed.
A $20T global industry moves to Avalanche. Watr, the blockchain infrastructure purpose-built for the commodities market, is migrating to an Avalanche L1—bringing metals, minerals, food, and fuel into a composable and programmable future.

Physical commodity markets need infrastructure built for their complexity: identity, traceability, settlement, and compliance that works across jurisdictions and counterparties. That's exactly what we're building with @avax. The conversation is shifting from "can we tokenize commodities?" to "what is the structure and infrastructure that will win?" See you at IEW London. 🌊
Heading to International Energy Week in London next week. This is the conversation I'm most looking forward to having: Tokenized assets hit $36B in 2025, with forecasts of $400B by year end. Treasuries and gold are leading. But energy, fuel, critical metals, agriculture... the physical commodities that provide the backbone of our economy... are barely a rounding error in this conversation. Why? Because tokenizing crude oil, a lithium shipment, or a cobalt reserve isn't like tokenizing a treasury. It requires identity infrastructure, compliance frameworks, credit, pricing, and market structures built and trusted by the industry. This has always been an industry opportunity, not a technology problem. What do you folks see out there? #tokenization #commodities #RWA

brilliant to see this! congratulations @robert_ivanhoe for championing this conversation over the decades - despite the changing tides of public opinion.

Tokenization is shaping the next evolution of global markets. In @TheEconomist, Larry Fink and Rob Goldstein discuss how tokenization can modernize market infrastructure, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and access by connecting traditional and digital finance. Read more:

This 👇 is a given but when the IMF agrees, scale is imminent.
Tokenization can make financial markets faster and cheaper but efficiencies from new technologies often come with new risks. Watch our latest video to learn more.

It's a good day to be where we are 😎 bridging a $3 trillion gap 👇 - Digital assets: $4T market seeking credible RWA yield. - Commodity producers and traders: looking for $3T of capital. 💡The infrastructure exists. The capital exists. What's necessary? Coordinated, vetted infrastructure and relationships that bridge two worlds.

The challenge isn't technology alone, it's orchestration. Who do commodity traders call for: custody, compliance, settlement, credit assessment, oracles? How do they vet 36 players claiming they can do it all while being in safe regulatory watrs? (pun very much intended)😇

That's why we exist. 🎯 Purpose-built Layer 1 for commodity markets. 🎯 Vetted validators. 🎯 Built-in compliance and identity.

When TradFi heralds the dawn of DeFi and RWAs 👇
This is interesting: Standard Chartered predicts that the “trustless” architecture of DeFi will challenge the traditional dominance of centralized financial (TradFi) institutions - with RWAs rising to $2 trillion by 2028 - a 56x on today's RWA market. This is coming from one of tradfi's own traditional financial institutions and a powerhouse at that!!! I agree with them. Disintermediation of financing and capital markets is one of the killer apps. What's your take on this? Too aggressive, or do you see proof points for this acceleration?

Huge We knew we were in good company.
Replying to @BlackRock
@BlackRock is choosing Avalanche for its tokenized fund - not Ethereum. @ethereum : $1.99B → $990.8M🔻📉 @avax : $54.3M → $554.3M🔺📈 Avax is leading the next phase of real-world 🔺doption. When the biggest asset manager on the planet starts reallocating like this… you know where the smart money is moving 🔺 Avalanche season has officially begun.

This is happening 👇
🚨 US government shutdown = commodity market data blackout WASDE offline. CFTC data suspended. Traders navigating peak harvest without benchmark data. This is why we're building ReserveNet: decentralized commodity trading infrastructure on @WatrProtocol × @avax No intermediaries. No blackouts. Uninterrupted Trade.

If you're sitting on capital and want access to commodity flows beyond what traditional markets offer, or you're a commodity trader curious about how to safely participate in onchain markets, let's talk. At Neo, we're working with Watr to bridge this gap: For Capital Allocators: Access to commodity-backed opportunities traditionally reserved for trading houses For Commodity Traders: - Learn how to leverage onchain rails without sacrificing compliance or privacy - Maintain your existing flows while accessing new capital pools The future of commodity finance won't look like the past. It's being built now.
Gold just proved - again - why it's the go-to safe haven in times of uncertainty: Record highs. Then a 6% plunge. Volatility that reminds us: retail capital has limited options when markets get chaotic. But here's what most people don't see: While gold swings wildly with everyone rushing to save or create value, the world's commodity trading houses are quietly monetizing a different kind of arbitrage. The world's largest commodity traders made over a $100 billion in combined profits in recent years. How? By having access to trade the commodities that actually power the global economy: 🛢️ Oil ⚡ Energy🔩 Rare earth metals 🌾 Agriculture They leverage close capital relationships to participate despite the industry's outdated financial rails. Deals qualified alternative investors never see. The question: Why should this value creation - hundreds of billions in cumulative profits - remain locked behind closed doors? Why is gold our only accessible safe haven when commodities offers: ✅ Real productive assets ✅ Actual global demand ✅ Structural supply constraints ✅ Tangible economic value The answer isn't that retail can't access commodities. It's that the infrastructure doesn't exist yet to open this market. Programmable finance. Transparent flows. On-chain compliance. Identity-backed transactions. This isn't about replacing gold. It's about expanding options beyond a single safe haven. The capital exists onchain now. The demand exists. The infrastructure is Watr. #RWA #Commodities #DeFi #TradeFinance

Digital assets are booming and RWAs are the holy grail. We are bridging digital assets with the mother of all RWAs: oil, rare earth metals and the commodities that build our economy. Global commodity trade moves $20T+ annually, yet it runs on systems designed decades ago. The result? ❌ Locked-out capital but $3T financing shortfall ❌ Limited access but significant counterparty risk ❌ Opaque pricing but deeply liquid assets The infrastructure hasn't evolved. Until now. #Commodities #DeFi #Trade

Freeport’s force majeure at Grasberg underscores how brittle today’s copper supply chain is. We can’t rely on single points of failure if we want programmable, resilient commodity infrastructure.

The Brent crude market showed what’s possible: $3T of physical trade expanded into $110T of financial trade. That kind of scale is still ahead for most commodities.
