₦50,000 TODAY, BACK TO POVERTY TOMORROW! IS THIS EMPOWERMENT? How long will we continue to celebrate the sharing of money as development in Delta State? The government claims to have spent ₦5 BILLION empowering 100,000 people with ₦50,000 each. But the question remains, what happens when the ₦50,000 finishes? Where are the factories? Where are the industries? Where are the jobs for our graduates and young people? Our people are not lazy! They need opportunities, not endless handouts! Imagine what ₦5 billion invested in productive industries and sustainable businesses can do for our people. We cannot continue to fight poverty by temporarily relieving it. We must create opportunities that lift people out of it permanently! DELTA STATE DESERVES JOBS, NOT JUST HANDOUTS! #ResetDelta #DCI2027 #DeltaDeservesBetter #DeltaState2027

PART 2/3 FROM ENTERPRISE CREATION TO STATE TRANSFORMATION I am not a career politician in the conventional sense. My life’s work has been in the private sector, building enterprises from the ground up, managing complex industrial operations, and taking responsibility for real-world results as Chairman of the Wellmann Group, a market leader in the oil and gas value chain on the African continent. In the world of enterprise, especially within our energy and maritime services sector, you learn a fundamental truth: having resources means little if you lack the discipline, vision, and ability to deploy them efficiently. Ideas mean nothing without project delivery. Complex problems are not solved by political rhetoric. They are solved through strategic planning, strict accountability, and competent execution. Governing a state is a sacred public trust. It requires absolute transparency, justice, and respect for every citizen. But I believe the operational discipline, financial management, and leadership required to run a successful enterprise can contribute meaningfully to public administration in Delta State. Delta State has oil and gas reserves, vast agricultural potential, and brilliant young minds. What we lack is a bridge between the wealth our soil generates and the quality of life our citizens actually experience. THE DELTA WE MUST BUILD TOGETHER We cannot remain silent while the youth of Warri, Asaba, Effurun, and Ughelli, educated, ambitious, and energetic, struggle to find meaningful employment or leave the state in search of opportunities because local industries have not reached their potential. We cannot look away as farmers in Aniocha, Oshimili, Ndokwa, and Isoko struggle to access adequate storage, processing facilities, and motorable farm-to-market roads. We cannot accept a reality where substantial state revenues coexist with serious gaps in infrastructure and public service delivery, while our coastal and riverine communities, the backbone of our oil and gas production, continue to face challenges in healthcare, clean drinking water, environmental protection, and shoreline infrastructure. We cannot continue to allow governments to measure success by contracts awarded or budgets announced rather than by tangible, measurable improvements in the lives of ordinary citizens. Leadership must be judged by outcomes, not announcements. When a government claims progress, a mother in Koko should feel it in her local market, a trader in Ika should see it in the growth of her business, and a young person in Patani should experience it through meaningful employment. That is what development should mean to the ordinary Deltan.

PART 1/3 WHY I AM RUNNING FOR GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE For years, I have carried a heavy burden in my heart: How can a land so richly blessed be home to a people so painfully burdened by hardship? Delta State is a titan. Beneath our soil lie the crude oil and natural gas that power a nation. The historic waterways of Forcados and Escravos flow across our landscape, connecting fertile agricultural belts, bustling commercial centers, and enormous maritime potential. Above all, our land is home to millions of industrious, creative, and resilient people ready to build a world-class economy. By every measure of our natural endowment, Delta State should be an economic powerhouse in the West African subregion. Yet, when we look across our three senatorial districts today, we see a painful gap between what Delta produces and what Deltans enjoy. From the oil-rich hub of Warri to the commercial avenues of Effurun, from the political seat of Asaba to the industrial corridors of Sapele and Agbor, many of our people still struggle to access a reliable electricity supply, potable water, and good roads. Deeper in our riverine communities, across Burutu, Bomadi, Escravos, and Patani, residents continue to face serious challenges accessing modern healthcare, functional educational facilities, and essential infrastructure. We inherited a wealthy state, but our people were handed the burden of hardship. THE BROKEN PROMISE For decades, we have been told to be patient. We have watched political leaders take the stage, outline grand master plans, and declare that prosperity was just around the corner. Many were veterans of the political system. We trusted that, with their experience and our state’s vast federal allocations and derivation funds, they would turn our resource wealth into lasting development, sustainable industries, and meaningful job creation. The figures tell a troubling story. According to BudgIT’s State of States 2025 report, Delta State received approximately ₦1.192 trillion in gross federal allocations and generated ₦164.6 billion in internally generated revenue in 2024 alone. Yet the National Bureau of Statistics’ 2022 Multidimensional Poverty Index found that 47.6% of Delta State residents, approximately 2.73 million people, lived in multidimensional poverty. Although these figures are from different years, they reveal a disturbing contradiction: a state endowed with enormous resources and substantial public revenue still has a significant proportion of its people living in deprivation. The question is no longer how much money Delta State receives, but how effectively it manages these resources and translates them into meaningful improvements in people’s lives. BudgIT’s report also shows that approximately ₦190.2 billion, representing 26.4% of the state’s reported total expenditure in 2024, went into capital expenditure. These figures should compel us to ask whether our development priorities, public investments, and accountability systems are delivering the results Deltans deserve. But announcements do not build gas-processing plants. Political manifestos alone do not revitalize underutilized ports. And promises do not feed a family in Oghara or fund a small business in Ukwuani. Despite the resources available to our state, the gap between Delta’s economic potential and the daily reality of too many of our people remains unacceptable. We have been asked to accept substandard living conditions in a state that contributes significantly to the Nigerian economy. I have reached a point where I can no longer sit quietly, voice concerns from the sidelines, and hope someone else will fix what is broken. Waiting is no longer an option.

Again I repeat, if HE @GovWike was Minister of Works, these roads would have been long fixed and in record time too. Wike might be everything, but he's a fixer and that's on period. Shame on Engr Dave Umahi
The condition of one of Nigeria’s most critical highways has been getting worse for years and recently it ground to a complete halt for days. Al Jazeera asked people on the Benin-Agbor-Asaba road how they view this infrastructure crisis.

Replying to @WarriUpdate
Now you're talking about professional smartness and celebration. They are two different kinds of smarts and then bringing manipulation as a metric to celebrate people is all wrong. But I get the whole gist.

NIGERIA IS A MASSIVE CRIME SCENE. For those who may not be aware, I will share a little true-life story that will shock you to the bones about this money. Actually the money found in this Lagos apartment in 2017 was not only 43million dollars. They also found £28,000 and 23million naira ALL IN CASH at the apartment. Yes, ALL IN CASH. Guess who the owner of that apartment is? A former director of the NIA and former ambassador of Nigeria to commonwealth. A gentleman called Chief Ayo Oke. By February 7,  2019; two years later after the money was found in his apartment, the Federal High Court in Lagos issued a warrant for the arrest of Chief Oke, former director general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), and his wife Folasade following an application by EFCC. Just before their court date, they reportedly left the country for “medical treatment”. The EFCC then declared the couple wanted after their failure to respond to court summons. They were charged with the theft and laundering of staggering amounts of public money. One of the EFCC charges relates to roughly $43 million, £28 thousand, and ₦23 million—all in cash—that the EFCC found in this their Lagos apartment following the 2017 raid. Another charge by the EFCC against th couple relates to $160 million that the couple allegedly diverted from the Nigerian federal government for their own use. In 2017, after this scandalous discovery of money in his apartment, Chief Oke was suspended as director general of the NIA. The then Vice president of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo headed a committee that investigated the incident and recommended to President Buhari that the director general be removed.  Till today, NOBODY knows what happened to that money and where that money is right now. As I said above, it was not just 43 million dollars found in that house. The also found £28,000 and 23 million Naira ALL in cash. In that same apartment. On that same day in April 2017. Now for the icing on the cake: Guess where Chief Ayodele Oke is now? He is quietly back in the country after Tinubu freshly nominated him few weeks ago as an ambassador. Yes, the same man who fled the country and evaded the courts when suspicious millions of dollars was found in his apartment. He is now an ambassador representing our country before the international community. And no, what you just read now is NOT fiction, it is not nollywood and it is not a wild imagination. Every single detail I shared here is true. You can google it and fact-check me. Good morning: happy Sunday.
On the 11 April , 2017, The EFCC announced they discovered more than $43 million in US dollars at an upscale apartment in Lagos state Photos of the house and money 👇🏾
