Here is all you need to know about domain traffic. We spent over $1M sending traffic to our great domain, only to have 5x the conversions from our free direct traffic. You’d have to pay $5M to Google for the same # conversions. So how much is the domain truly worth? @DomainKing
A couple of weeks ago, I learned about a private family auction for the personal memorabilia collection of the great Colonel Sanders, of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame. Two of the items in the auction were his own personal copy of an early 1970s paper mache bobblehead of himself. And the other item is a similar design but a little larger and in the form of a plastic coin bank.
I remembered that the very first bobblehead that I ever bought myself, after buying the iconic Bobbleheads.com domain name, was a Colonel Sanders bobblehead. So this one had a special meaning to me. I had to bid. And surprisingly, I won the auction.
I’m happy to report that today, these two pieces arrived and are now in my personal collection. I’m very proud to be their new owner and our Bobbleheads team and I will certainly treat them with the great respect and appreciation that they deserve!
Happy 250th Birthday, America!

We got our big shipment from @vidaliaonions today! The @bobbleheads team is very excited. Everyone loves them. Thanks @searchbound !!
Back in February, we tried for several weeks to rescue a very young and beautiful female cat who appeared at our office, before a freezing cold weather system moved into the area. She was not equipped to deal with that. Finally, we got her and brought her inside. We were surprised to find out that she was expecting - so naturally, it was very difficult for us to find a rescue group partner to work with on her rescue. They were all full and had too many kittens already, and could not take on any more.
So thankfully, my friend Vicki agreed to take the mama into her house, and even to care for them all the way through the delivery and until the kittens were ready for adoption. We were so grateful!
Today, they were finally ready, and the kittens were accepted into the Humane Society of Forsyth County. Today, they were taken into their program - and by this afternoon, 3 of the 6 were pre-adopted! We are so grateful for Vicki and the Humane Society for their help with this great rescue. 7 little lives saved!
Mama is safe with me, until she is also ready for adoption. Everyone is going to have a great life; they will have anything and everything that they need for them to live long and happy lives!

32 years ago today, in 1993, I registered my first domain name. By domain standards, it was not a great one, but he got me started on a long journey that led me here. I still have it today. Happy birthday ATLWIN.com!
I’m really curious whether any other individual has ever personally held a domain name this long. How about it? Anyone?
What are the most powerful levers in domain negotiations? Time, patience, and persistence. This is the case whether you’re buying or selling.
This week I was able to finally acquire a domain which I have been chasing for 23 years. My first inquiry to purchase it was in 2002. It’s a geo .com of keen personal interest for me. And that doesn’t mean I overpaid- they finally accepted the exact same offer that I made in 2015. They declined it then and again until now.
And earlier this year I sold a one-word premium .com which I hand registered in 1998. I’ve had many six figure offers over the 27 years following but declined them all. I was very passive with it- I didn’t even have a landing page for the domain- it was only forwarded to my domain AlleyCat.com , which only shows a picture of my cat.
Finally, after 27 years, I got the offer I was looking for, out of the blue, and we did the deal. Win-win. It was someone who had inquired on the domain many years ago and I declined their original offers and then I didn’t hear from them again until now.
The people who I respect the most in this industry are the pioneers who exhibit this kind of thinking. I learned so much from them and they know who they are.
Don’t underestimate the value of time and patience with your domain investments. Time is a very powerful lever.
We are so proud to have been awarded an official US Patent on our unique bobblehead key chain design. It is truly one of a kind, and is the only one in the world where the head actually bobbles independently from the body. Thank you to inventors Rachael and Brandon Royal for their brilliant design!
Thank you so much Gamer Aviator!

Happy 30th birthday to my WRR.com. I hand registered it in 1995 and still have it today.
Thank you for the kind words!!
👑 @WarrenRoyal wasn’t a toy guy.
He wasn’t a collector. And he definitely didn’t have a background in retail.
But he did know one thing:
Sometimes, the right domain is more than just a name—it’s a business plan.
🔭 In 2008, right in the middle of the Great Recession, Warren bought Bobbleheads*com.
No VC. No employees. Just a killer keyword domain and a vision.
Within a few years, he had turned it into a multi-million dollar ecommerce brand.
Not just a novelty store—the source for high-end @bobbleheads of celebrities, presidents, and even the Pope.
📰 When Pope Francis visited the U.S. in 2015, Royal’s team dropped a bobblehead version—and it went viral.
@CNN, @nytimes, @NPR....they all pointed to one place: Bobbleheads*com
💸 Then came the next stunt: a 15-foot-tall bobblehead of a giant dog, unveiled at the Berkshire Hathaway shareholder meeting. Even @WarrenBuffett gave it a nod.
And all of this? Powered by a single keyword domain that was the product, the brand, and the niche.
🏆 Today, Bobbleheads*com does $5M–$10M in annual sales, has 8,500+ five-star reviews, and dominates its space.
No gimmicks. No brand tricks.
Just the power of a great name—matched with great execution.
A good domain won’t build your business…but it’ll absolutely clear the runway.
