4/ Ka Ying Rising didn’t win by 4–5L. He won by 7¾ len. Strip out the entire advantage he received relative to their HKJC ratings and he was still roughly 3–3½L superior on a rating-adjusted basis. That’s the number that matters.

5/ And then there’s the clock. 1:06.11 for 1200m. Nearly a full second faster than his own Sha Tin track record — while carrying 61kg. The handicap explains part of the 7¾L margin. It doesn’t explain Ka Ying Rising. An extraordinary sprinter. 🐎🔥
