What an incredible couple of days it has been in Dallas, TX at the 2026 Midterm Republican Convention!
As Chairman of the West Virginia Republican Party, it was an honor to lead our West Virginia delegation throughout the convention. It was an honor to be asked to sit in the Presidential Box for an hour today.
We heard about the vision of the Republican Party, the work that the Trump Administration and Republicans in Congress have done to keep their campaign promises, and laid out a stark contrast between the Republican vision of America and what the Democrats are offering. Most importantly, we emphasized the importance of getting out to vote in November.
On Wednesday, for almost two hours, we heard from President Trump as he laid out the many campaign promises he has carried through less than halfway through his second term. Last night, we heard from Vice President JD Vance on the future of our country, defending our God-given rights, and standing up for American workers and the forgotten men and women.
What a fantastic experience!
We were also honored to have House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Congressman Jim Jordan, RNC Co-Chair KC Crosbie, Joe Mitchell, Larry Pack, and Sec. Linda McMahon attend our West Virginia events as well as State Parties from Kentucky, Montana, North Dakota, and others.
The stakes in November are too high to sit this one out.
In just one month, our Victory Program volunteers knocked 2,000+ doors, made 1,300+ calls, and helped set up support for 10+ Republican candidates down ballot — with six new staffers now on the ground across the state.
This is how West Virginia stays red: neighbor to neighbor, door to door.

This is the heart of the H-1B and OPT SCAM.
Corporations and our own government have chosen to import cheap foreign labor because it’s easier than investing in American education and training up the next generation of skilled American workers. And now they’re addicted to the cheap foreign labor.
If we’re serious about putting America First, we have to cut out the rot, terminate these programs, and get serious about developing American talent.
Train Americans. Hire Americans. Put Americans first.
🚨 This may be one of the most important H-1B arguments I’ve heard.
MIT economist and Nobel laureate Daron Acemoglu, himself a former H-1B immigrant, says America’s reliance on skilled immigration has created a dangerous incentive:
Instead of fixing American education and developing American talent, elites can simply import the skills they need.
His point is devastating.
America has millions of kids struggling academically while we’re constantly told employers must recruit overseas because Americans don’t have the necessary skills.
Acemoglu says we’ve effectively “given up on the education of Americans” because skill gaps can be filled by importing workers.
Think about that incentive.
Why spend 15 years fixing K-12 education?
Why build serious STEM pipelines?
Why train Americans?
Why force companies to invest in entry-level workers?
Just import someone already trained.
Skilled immigration should supplement American talent, not become an excuse for failing to develop it.
And this isn’t coming from someone who opposes skilled immigration. Acemoglu explicitly says he wants skilled immigration while also restoring America’s commitment to educating its own citizens.
That’s the conversation we should be having.

Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) benefits are now available to qualifying individuals who live or work in Lewis and Upshur counties and were impacted by the severe storms, straight line winds, tornadoes, flooding, and landslides that began on July 21.

The luncheon brought together state executive committee members, grassroots activists, elected officials, county party officers, and volunteers from across West Virginia to hear directly from the Republican National Committee (RNC) as the Party continues preparing for the critical 2026 election cycle.
