In larí garcía’s Spirit of Discrimination, the nature of objects is transformed to become conduits between the spirit and physical realms. The artist repurposes commonplace objects, resulting in sculptures that create a dialogue between materials ancient and modern.
Women & Their Work mourns the death of Bete Makonnen. Makonnen created close community with all she knew. A scholar and thoughtful writer, she used photography, video, and installation to delve into questions of identity, memory and consciousness.
She will be deeply missed.
