Glasgow City Council advise that two cast iron bases of the lampposts have been saved intact.
I'll work with GCC to have them conserved and put back on the B-listed bridge & commission replica patterns to replace the other lampposts, which can then be used elsewhere in the city.

Hi Paul, An inspection of the lighting columns along Queen Margaret Drive found significant deterioration within the structures, which was not apparent from viewing the exterior of the decorative bases. (1/3)

Great to be invited and attend a Visit of Thanksgiving and Remembrance in Honour of Queen Elizabeth II by His Majesty King Charles III and the unveiling of Parliament's Platinum Jubilee gift
It was a credit to the Doorkeepers who organized everything in the freezing cold.

The Platinum Jubilee Gift is a privately MP-funded project.
The sculptures include crowned lanterns – symbolising the guiding light The Queen was to the country throughout her reign - designed by
Tim Crawley, a Cambridgeshire-based artist and sculptor.

Some rather blurry photos of King Charles on his visit to Parliament today. He switched on the Platinum Jubilee lanterns, which were unveiled by both Speakers in New Palace Yard.
