Our Fiction Book of the Month is The Wax Child by Olga Ravn, translated by Martin Aitken! A hauntingly evocative short novel of witchcraft & persecution that reimagines the true story of a 17th century Danish witch trial.
Two important announcements!
Firstly, our opening hours for the Monday Bank Holiday today are slightly different:
Bookshop: 09.00-18.00
Cafe: 09.00-17.30
Secondly, today is the last day to enjoy Double Plus Stamps!

I didn't know about the money-for-blood market until about 15 years ago when I became friendly with a sociology professor; many of the professor's students were indigent and sold blood to make extra money.
If you're in a hospital and need blood during a procedure, it will come largely from students, homeless people, and drug addicts. ("What stage of capitalism...")
I truly didn’t know about the plasma for money trade. Almost everyone here is donating their plasma for cash. They make around $500 a month. I had not a clue. But hey they are doing a good deed.
Each month we have a great selection of clubs to attend & give you a chance to meet new people & share your interests!
Our book clubs are free to attend, but for the games night, it is £5 per person or £20 for a table of 6!
