Every day, dedicated water utility employees work behind the scenes to keep safe, reliable drinking water flowing, often without the recognition they deserve.
On #ImagineADayWithoutWater, Maryland Secretary of the Environment (@MDEnvironment) Serena McIlwain shared a special message of appreciation for those who work tirelessly to protect public health and ensure our communities have water when they need it.
“Everyone can play a role in keeping our communities safe, as you prepare for a water emergency, or any kind of emergency, be sure to talk to your family and neighbors who may need your assistance.”
- Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (@PGFDNews) Deputy Chief David Wilson.

"For Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, water is essential. It is critical to firefighting, emergency response, public health, and the overall safety of the communities we serve, we may not be able to prevent every man-made and natural disruption, but we can prepare for them. By working together—our emergency responders, water utility, community partners, and residents—we can better protect our community when it matters most."
- Montgomery County Fire (@mcfrs) Chief Corey Smedley
