A scandal-hit English NHS Trust has been covering up the extent of A&E waiting times, corridor care and overcrowding by falsifying data. Make no mistake, if this was a Scottish health board the BBC would be confronting John Swinney and Labour would be demanding resignations.

We need to reframe the idea of independence not as a ‘breakaway’, or ‘separation’, but as an assertion of sovereignty - already agreed by most Scottish parties - followed by the negotiation of a new association or confederation of the islands. Only way to break the deadlock, imo.

Publicly owned Royal Mail delivered letters six days a week. After privatisation, bosses tripled their salaries and cut that to three days a week. Yes, it's our old friend 'the superior efficiency of the private sector'.

When Andy Burnham visits Scotland on Friday he should be treated like *any* politician attempting to spoil a rival party conference.
1. His spoiling tactics headlined.
2. Challenged on uncomfortable areas.
3. The rival party allowed a free hit.
Sadly this won't happen with Burnham because Scotland suffers from having a pro-Union media that revels in attacking the SNP. He'll be indulged. His attacks headlined. John Swinney, not Burnham, will find himself being challenged and placed on the defensive.

BBC Scotland headlined 'Corridor Care' in the Scottish NHS yesterday. What the station failed to mention was that Scotland has the lowest incidence of corridor care in the UK ... and by some margin.

There's a good news story about an investment boost for Prestwick Airport. Sadly BBC Scotland appears to have forgotten to tell the public that Prestwick is owned by the Scottish Govt. The station never makes this mistake with Ferguson Marine. Isn't that odd.

Flying back from Lisbon yesterday reminded me of how just truly dreadful the entire aviation process is.
The pretend security
The crowded lounges
The endless waiting
The chaotic boarding experience
The dangerously cramped cabin
The uncomfortable seats
Everything awful.

Energy costs gone up by 300% but lets attack the ScotGov over rates instead of Westminster especially whenever Labour blocked zonal pricing for Scotland which would have meant the cheapest energy costs in UK.

BBC Scotland is very receptive to studies that attack the SNP Govt. It doesn't want research that criticises or blames the UK Govt.
Organisations know this. It's why criticism of the UK Govt is often missing and why the context in news reports - and interviews - is so narrow. The BBC wants to paint the SNP as failing.
Charities and campaign groups genuinely want to help people. However, if they include or focus on UK Govt culpability in a study there's almost no chance of it being headlined by the BBC.
It's a colonial news template that everyone works to.

This is why I will never understand Welsh or Scottish British Nationalists. The London based political parties they vote for will never put Wales or Scotland first. Never. They are voting to be treated as second class citizens by the British Gov.
I’ve noticed that almost every Welsh MP, including the Secretary of State for Wales, seems to be attacking Plaid Cymru and Rhun ap Iorwerth over his comments about a fair deal for Wales.
Frankly, I find this deeply disappointing and unnecessary. Asking for a fair deal for Wales should not be portrayed as something suspicious or shameful.
Rhun is expressing concerns that many people across Wales share. When you attack someone simply for demanding fairness and standing up for Wales, you risk insulting not just Rhun or Plaid Cymru, but also the many Welsh people who share those concerns.
Political disagreement is perfectly legitimate, but we should be able to have that debate respectfully. Wales deserves better than personal attacks and accusations. 🏴🏴🏴

Spot on. And this, of course, was why the LibDem position was so absurd back in the days when they were anti #Brexit - they wanted an immediate second referendum on Brexit terms but no second referendum ever on Scottish independence. Labour now in the same position.
