Can I ask how people are doing GCSE combined science intervention?? Online use of Seneca, face to face in school sessions?

Given that ~80% of school policies relate to legal requirements, I believe the DfE should write and update them, and schools should only need to link to them on their websites. The constant writing, updating, checking, ratifying of policies is bonkers and massive workload issue.

A colleague created this. It’s very very impressive. The automated marking is mind-blowing. V. clever way to give useful feedback + helping pupils identify what they need to work on. Definitely worth a look for Physics teachers. Reposts appreciated. physicsuk.co.uk/

I went back to school on Thursday so here's my annual reminder that my site has: -An entire KS3 science workbook -Worksheets and booklets covering KS4-KS5 physics -Prep for uni entrance assessments The site has grown a lot since 2020, over 500 freely downloadable resources now.
***FINISHED RESOURCES*** Done. Finito. -9 GCSE booklets -13 A level booklets -220 freely downloadable physics resources -80k site visits -110k resource downloads This is about as much of a one stop shop for secondary physics as I could imagine. sciencedoctor.school.blog 1/5

One hour of extra work per day (a duty, a meeting, some admin) would be paid at £18.50 on a £3,600 TLR. Tutoring is currently around £35 per hour. National Minimum Wage is £12.71 from April. Decide how much your time is worth before applying for a TLR post.

New Blog Post 📝 Over the years I have received a lot of terrible teaching advice, but I have also had some brilliant pointers. Some of the best advice I have had has been seemingly insignificant changes to my practice. Here are five examples. Link below

Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you… Big Blue. Possibly the world’s largest single-domain copper sulfate crystal. 🧪 A year of careful growth in my lab, thermodynamics, patience, and kilograms of bovine hoof disinfectant. Slow-grown in cold water - this is chemistry as art. How big will it be next year? #iteachchemistry

most unusual venue for my A-level Chemistry Revision Workshop this morning near Launceston today - St Michael’s Church (as the village hall was already booked until lunchtime!). Back in the hall now for the afternoon session! 👍

Teachers: Could you teach a lesson armed with only a single whiteboard pen and an empty whiteboard? No desktop, no technology. The pupils will have a jotter and a pencil. The lesson will last for 60 minutes. Please comment on why you gave your answer

Shout out to that one teacher at every school who retires, then comes back again, then retires, then comes back again, then retires and finally retires properly after 35 years. If you know, you know. #edutwitter
