Anyone know what’s replacing 12th Street on West End Lane? It’s been closed and now there are building works going on
Chicken and Rice next door seems to be closed as well - not sure what’s going on with that one either!

West Hampstead has public toilets. Frankly, they’re magnificent. 🚻
Down beneath West End Green: tiled walls,fabulous old ironwork,huge ceramic basins and a resident attendant.
Free to use and cleaner than a few local establishments I could mention 😁

Interesting they seem to be doing well in Crouch End and Muswell Hill but they couldn’t make it work in West Hampstead 🤷♂️

Salt Lounge in West Hampstead is no more as a nightclub.
After a long, and sometimes troubled, late-night history at 269 West End Lane, it’s under new ownership and becoming HOUSE OF SK, a private events space.
I can find no recent Camden licensing review forcing the change.

Interesting at The Alliance today.
Activity at the pub this afternoon, with police entering the premises and a very prominent PUB TO LET board now appeared above the frontage.
Hopefully another step towards seeing The Alliance reopen as a pub.

Interesting to see Salt Lounge asking residents what they'd like to see if it were no longer a nightclub.
Suggestions include a café/lounge,live music,comedy,wellness,family activities, community events.
A significant site on West End Lane. Interested to see where this leads.

A handwritten notice has appeared in the window of The Alliance pub stating that the property has been occupied by squatters. Note also refers to Section 144 LASPO,which does not apply because it is a commercial property, also warns anyone forcing entry will have police called.

It is very dominant relative to building proportions. Feels aggressive, especially in a conservation area with Victorian facades above.
West Hampstead property update… it looks like Pavona on Broadhurst Gardens will be replaced by ‘Colosseo II’ which I guess is a sister restaurant to Colosseo - an Italian restaurant in Westminster colosseorestaurant.co.uk. Interesting they’re opening up next door to Sarracino

Some visible changes at Poke Shack on West End Lane, West Hampstead. Looks like the “Coming Soon” signage may be coming down! Small area of external decking also now in place.
The council is currently investigating whether the current use matches the approved plans.
