In 2004, the Tennessee Air National Guard honored Dolly Parton with “nose art” on one of their KC-135s.
Old - very old - fence gate, pliers, duct tape, and NO time to run to store and get a proper size clamp. Installed new wood screws on brace joint and done. Worked better than I thought it would 😏 - will hold up until I can rebuild it from scratch.
I agree with Mr Caruso unless the out-of-sequence naming misleads the adversaries like Soviet naming shenanigans tried to do during the cold war…. Can’t imagine that it does.

Currently at the Puerto Rico National Cemetery to pay my final respects to an American hero, Capt. Ariana G. Savino, 31, of Covington.
This brave Airman made the ultimate sacrifice on March 12 while serving our nation in Iraq. As a fellow veteran, it is an honor to be here for her burial and to witness the love, dignity, and gratitude our country showed her today.
Captain Savino, your service and your smile will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, warrior. You are home now.

RIP Russ Meyer - the man behind Grumman American and who, more importantly, saved general aviation from the mid-80s product liability crisis. Also, incredible bio beyond those achievements.
NYC: Met Life building - (for me it will always be the PanAm building)- by Walter Gropius and Emery Roth. Lobby mural by Josef Albers- as you go towards Grand Central Terminal
Doolittle’s seat back armor plate from Tokyo raid. Recovered from wreck in 1994 by his navigator. On display with bombsight and other artifacts at CAF Central Texas Wing near Austin TX
Ernie Anastos, legendary NYC news anchor, dead at 82. Oddly the brief NYP obit leaves out his famous outburst: “Keep f@&$ing that chicken!” that went out on air live. nypost.com/2026/03/12/us-new…
