I liked him last year, but I think this year is going to be a whole other level. I just think the opportunity is going to be there for him. He became one of Steve Kerr's most trusted guys over the course of the 2nd half of the year when they had their injuries and I think there's opportunity right out of the gate. We'll see to what extent. Is he affected by Lendeborg's presence? Because I think Lendeborg is a guy that's immediately going to have a massive impact, one of the most impactful rookies I think out of the gate because Golden State desperately needs bigger wings and Santos, I think his confidence level is going to be completely different at the start of the year. It took him a while to grow into that a year ago and that's why I'm putting him in this category because I think it's going to happen right from jump street. I think right in the beginning of the season, the 1st 5 games of the year, I think this guy is going to have a couple of 20 point games out of the gate and it's going to set the tone for his entire season. I just like his versatility, his demeanor. He competes. He's very, very professional, really hard worker. He seems to take a genuine joy in playing basketball, which sounds crazy. You would think everybody has that, but some guys it stands out a little bit more and he's one of those guys for me. So, I root for him. I pull for him. He answered the bell a year ago and I think now, everything just happens much quicker at the start of the season."

Kerr said Podz did not practice today and is questionable for Wednesday’s opener because of lower back soreness. Kerr said the injury occurred in Sunday’s practice before the open part in front of the crowd at Chase.
