Well, this is sum’ bull$#!+. Youre looking at a glipse of the situation on Rock Hill Road just east of the intersection of Walton Bridge Road happening now. A bull, type E-LARGE class, has escaped its cattle pen and has decided on a walkabout. @WCASFL is trying to steer the steer away from the roadway. Roping crew en route. Can’t make this stuff up. Drivers are asked to USE EXTREME CAUTION and SLOW DOWN if traveling on Rock Hill Road.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG TO DIE IN A HOT CAR It only takes minutes for a parked car to become a death trap for an animal, even with the windows cracked. 85°F outside? It can exceed 100°F inside a car in under 10 minutes. Dogs can suffer heatstroke, brain damage, or death during that time. It’s not only dangerous and inhumane — it’s illegal. On Saturday, the Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to Scenic Gulf Drive after multiple reports of a small dog in a hot car for about an hour. The car wasn't running, and the windows were only slightly cracked. The vehicle was opened by deputies using a lock-out kit, and the Yorkie was pulled out and given water. Deputies called the number on the dog's collar, and a short time later, Andy Matute Villatoro, 26, of Houston, Texas, showed up and was placed under arrest for animal cruelty. He was at the beach. @WCASFL arrived and tested temperature the inside the vehicle; readings came back at 120° Villatoro was given a $1,000 bond and is still incarcerated at the time of this release. ✅ If you see a dog left in a hot car: 📞 Call 911 immediately. 🕵️ Provide location and vehicle details. 🚓 Wait for the cavalry. We're here if you need us.

Alright, folks, we've got some pretty nasty weather headed our way. Here's what you need to know: • Walton County is expected to experience two rounds of severe weather. Round 1 is expected between 2-5 PM this afternoon with strong storms rolling in around 4 PM. Round 2 will arrive between 8 PM and 12 AM. The second storm system is expected to be larger and more significant than the first. • @swfdinfo Beach Safety is now flying double red flags on all Walton County beaches. That means the water is CLOSED to all beachgoers. • @WaltonCountySD will be releasing students and faculty members 90 minutes early due to inclement weather. All after school activities have been canceled. • No, the Clyde B Wells (331) Bridge is not closed. FDOT Northwest Florida will only close the bridges if winds reach a sustained 40 MPH. We will let everyone know if that happens. Our friends at @WaltonCountyEM are monitoring these systems closely. If you haven't already done so, we encourage everyone to sign up for emergency alerts at AlertWalton.org. You can also receive weather alerts from the @NWSTallahassee by downloading the Walton County Sheriff's Office smartphone app. Make sure your National Weather System notifications are turned on! Stay safe out there. As always, we're here if you need us.

If you are having trouble caring for your pets, PLEASE reach out to @WCASFL. Dumping animals is ILLEGAL and these individuals could face criminal charges. Reaching out does not mean dropping animals off on a day when the shelter is closed and leaving them for dead.

Someone was a baaaaaaad boy this morning. 🐐 This goat attempted to get on a school bus this morning in Santa Rosa Beach. After getting turned away from joining the kiddos, he tried to break into a nearby residence. Luckily, @WCASFL was able to goat him safely into custody.
