Did you know that the mating call of a tawny owl inspired a line of Shakespeare? 💙
We recently paid a visit to Shakespeare’s Glen and the set of Romeo & Zooliet! 🦉 Forest met with audience members and one of our naturalists educated about him and how we can help owls locally.
We’re all big fans of Barton the Barred Owl and his many vocalizations! Though he’s fully grown, he still makes juvenile sounds at his trainers due to being socialized with humans from a young age.
Are you also a big fan of owls? 🦉 Come and celebrate OWL-O-WEEN with us!
Put on your costume and join us for a family-friendly and fun-filled day with thrilling activities, creative crafts, exciting games, and captivating bird demonstrations! It’s sure to be a hoot. 💙
🎟️ Admission: $5 per person; ages five and under are free!

Young raptors that come through our hospital aren’t always able to be renested or they might be too young for release. Our solution was to create the Foster Forest! 🌳

The road to recovery starts with an exam. 🩻🩺💉
Patient 26-407 is a juvenile bald eagle who likely fell out of their nest before they were ready to fledge. A friendly neighbor spotted and monitored them from afar for a couple days before calling the World Bird Sanctuary.
