Digger was better than One Battle After Another because it had the courage to sit with the actual hopelessness of our moment rather than coping with “the kids are alright..”

Merveille.

No show has a good season 5. It’s a rite of passage for it to be ass.

Name your favorite film composer. You can’t say Hans Zimmer or John Williams. Go.

On more than one occasion over the last few years I have watched a canceled celebrity resurface in an upsetting, diminished way that immediately reminds me of the End of Tár, which I believe is the defining movie scene of our time. Wrote about it!

D'emblée, on repense à DON'T LOOK UP face à ce pitch.
First trailer for Alejandro G. Iñárritu's ‘DIGGER’, starring Tom Cruise. The film follows the most powerful CEO in the world who must save the world from a disaster that he created. In theaters on October 2.

I’m really loving the recent crop of films where directors are using the medium to create what I think are “revisionist memories.” They mine autobiographical elements to create fictions that often allow them to share space with loved ones no longer alive via their characters.
