#InCaseYouMissedIt @VumaLevin and I got together earlier on @kofififm_972 and we caught up on his happenings including his latest record #ThePastIsUnpredictable #OnlyTheFutureIsCertain and this is how that conversation went... open.spotify.com/episode/70O…

#ThePastIsUnpredictable #OnlyTheFutureIsCertain is the new project by composer, guitarist, educator, and touring musician Vuma Levin (@vumalevin). The album was recorded in 3 cities, Basel, Amsterdam, and Johannesburg fusing the worlds of Traditional Indigenous South African Musics, Western Art Music, Contemporary Jazz and various strands of popular music. As a result the instrumentation of the album is entirely novel – traditional South African bow, percussion, vocals and finger piano instruments are placed at the center of Pop, Jazz and Western Art music orchestrations taking the listener on a sonic journey that traverses the rural areas and hinterlands of the Eastern Cape and Kwazulu Natal, the townships of Soweto and Khayelitsha, the jazz theatres of Johannesburg, Cape Town, Basel, Geneva, Bern, Amsterdam and Rotterdam and the classical concert halls dotted throughout the European capitals. Vuma stops by @thekjazzshow this Sunday to share this new story. #SundaysAtKofifi #FiftyTwoWeeksOfJazz #PageThree #TKJS
