This is a disgraceful failure of our judicial system. This judge should be struck off. Even after sentencing review he should have been given a longer term behind bars. That girl will have not only the physical scars but will have to relive the horror for life.

Judge Ian Lawrie KC has let a 14 year old boy who stabbed a girl 10 times walk free after describing him as a bright lad with a solid family background.
The boy waited for the girl near a shop in Cirencester and attacked her with a kitchen knife after she rejected him.
He received a 12 month referral order and avoided custody.
The victim’s mother called the decision a failure of justice.
This has to be referred to the Attorney General’s office for a hearing on an unduly light sentence!
The Judge needs removing from his position.

Mannlíf spurði Stórmoskuna einfaldrar spurningar: Tekur moskan afdráttarlausa afstöðu gegn dauðarefsingu vegna trúhvarfs?
Í stað þess að svara spurningunni beint kaus moskan að benda á að hún hefði „hvorki dómsvald né hlutverk í beitingu refsinga“ og styddi að allir nytu þeirra réttinda sem íslensk lög tryggja.
Ha? Hvað kemur það málinu við?
Það þarf ekkert dómsvald til að fordæma dauðarefsingu fyrir það eitt að skipta um trú. Spurningin snerist ekki um hvort moskan gæti beitt slíkri refsingu, heldur hvort hún teldi hana réttlætanlega.
Hvers vegna er svona erfitt að svara því afdráttarlaust?
Og svörin verða ekki skárri þegar Mannlíf spyr um skrif Usmani, en hann hefur látið í ljós geðtruflaðar skoðanir á nánast öllum nema karlkyns múslimum. Í stað þess að gagnrýna málflutning hans bendir moskan á að skoðanir hans séu ekki „sjálfkrafa afstaða Stofnunar múslima á Íslandi eða Stórmoskunnar“.
Aftur er forðast að taka skýra afstöðu.
