A new Norstat poll puts support for Scottish independence at 52%, with 47% backing a referendum within five years. Just as importantly, Professor John Curtice notes that only around half of Yes supporters back the SNP on the regional list.
Yes voters are looking for a genuine alternative. Real independence means full self-government—free from both Westminster and Brussels, not swapping one union for another. We believe in a Scotland that is sovereign, just and free!

Reports suggest Westminster could seek to rejoin the EU single market—accepting Brussels rules and free movement—through a UK party manifesto without a referendum.
Scotland shouldn't be pulled back under Brussels rules by a Westminster manifesto any more than it should be governed from London. Decisions on who governs Scotland belong to the people of Scotland. Only full independence outside both the UK and the EU puts Scotland in control.

The Prime Minister now says full EU membership, or the single market with free movement, could be up for discussion ahead of next month's UK-EU summit in Brussels.
Whatever Westminster decides about Brussels, Scotland gets no separate say. That's the problem with both unions.
Sovereignty stands for the sovereignty of the Scottish people, independent of both the United Kingdom and the European Union. Swapping rule from London for rule from Brussels isn't independence.

Around 1,100 big estates may have to publish land management plans, but not before 2029. Transparency is welcome, but the real reform is Land Value Tax on unimproved site value, replacing council tax and business rates. Holyrood can pilot it now.

Scottish fishing communities face another year of brutal quota cuts negotiated in talks where Scotland has no seat of its own, while EU fleets keep access to our waters until 2038. Scotland's seas should be managed by Scotland, outside both the UK and the EU.

Fair Isle is without its ferry until early November while parts come from Norway, and Whalsay has been cut to a single vessel. Island ferries aren't a luxury—they're a lifeline, and our island communities need reliable, properly funded links now.

Quebec's new Parti Québécois government has appointed a minister responsible for preparing the path to independence. When a government is serious about self-determination, it makes independence a real ministerial job with a real plan.

A sovereign country must be able to defend itself. If a costed plan for a Scottish army, navy and air force exists, voters deserve to see it now rather than having it held back until the next referendum debate.

Over 10,000 objections to a 1,000MW data centre campus at Chapelcross. A scheme this size is a national question: a full impact assessment published first, national approval, and rent paid to Scotland for exclusive use of its power, water and land. thenational.scot/news/266593…
The UK-EU deal due on 20 November will align GB with EU rules on animal and plant health, welfare and food labels. NFU Scotland wants farmers to get a say in future EU rules. Scotland's farms should be governed from Scotland, not London or Brussels.

1,380 days and still no Scottish energy strategy. Now consumers are asked to fund a back-up gas line from Belgium. Scotland has the energy; Westminster has the decisions. Independence from London, and from Brussels, puts them back in our hands.
