Galvin. Voter Reference Foundation (VRF), an election integrity nonprofit, beat Galvin on the merits in March. That’s more states than any single year in U.S. history. Oklahoma already did so when it added a “proof of identity” requirement into its state constitution on August 25. This November 3, an additional 11 states will get that opportunity. Five will vote on citizen-only language, five others on strong voter ID requirements, and another state has both on the ballot. A key promise President Donald Trump made when he ran in 2024 was to make federal elections secure. That includes requiring proof of citizenship to register, a government-issued photo ID to vote, and limiting mail-in voting to a need-only basis. The U.S. House of Representatives did its part, passing the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE America) Act. Trump has pledged to sign it, but Senate Republicans have failed to unite behind it or muster the courage to force an old-fashioned talking filibuster to pass it. restoration-news.com/eleven-…

Amidst mass immigration and weak voting laws, the Liberty Initiative Fund (LIF) is fighting effectively at the state level to ensure only U.S. citizens can vote in U.S. elections. Led by longtime ballot-initiative advocate Paul Jacob, LIF has successfully channeled resources into efforts to amend state constitutions to ban noncitizens from voting. Its latest effort in Michigan aims to demand proof of citizenship to register, photo identification to vote, and regular voter roll maintenance. At the national level, Senate Republicans have failed to deliver the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE America) Act to President Donald Trump’s desk. This inaction makes LIF’s work more important than ever. By bypassing Congress—and even state legislatures—statewide ballot initiatives take the fight for election integrity straight to the people. “The vast majority of Americans are frustrated with Washington’s inability to pass the SAVE Act or other reforms that are needed,” Jacob told Restoration News. “Thank goodness that in our system, so much of reform bubbles up from the states. So, often the best way to change Washington is to change your state.” restoration-news.com/exclusi…

A residency scandal engulfing both candidates in the Texas Senate race demonstrates the need for clean, current, and transparent voter rolls to avoid illegal voting and a slide in public confidence in elections. Both Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) and his opponent, State Rep. James Talarico (D), allegedly spent years voting from addresses they no longer occupied. Texas law requires voters to register and cast ballots from the address where they live. But Texas courts apply a broad, multi-factor residency test, and criminal charges require proof of knowing intent—so neither candidate faces prosecution. But the optics are damaging to both candidates, the counties they voted in, and the state of Texas. restoration-news.com/paxton-…

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has sent a letter to nursing homes rescinding a Biden-era directive that made it easy to harvest ballots among vulnerable residents. "In recent years, we have become aware of several allegations of instances in which resident rights were unlawfully violated" the CMS letter reads. "In Texas, a social worker was charged with 134 felony counts involving election fraud for unlawfully registering residents of the Mexia State Supported Living Center . . . . In Wisconsin, Sheriff Christopher Schmaling and Sgt. Michael Luell investigated a case in which they alleged that eight men and women whose mental capacities had diminished due to age or disease sent mail-in ballots from Ridgewood Care Center." That case prompted the Wisconsin Assembly to appoint retired state Supreme Court justice Special Counsel Michael Gableman to look into nursing home fraud in the 2020 election. His 2022 report described "widespread election fraud," in nursing homes, noting that many facilities had a 100 percent voting rate in 2020, which included many ineligible voters and those in memory care units. restoration-news.com/it-just…

Clean voter rolls are the best way to stop ballot fraud and restore confidence in elections. Democrats are blaming the DMV for accidentally registering 6,600 noncitizens to vote in New Jersey, 400 of whom have cast a ballot at least once since 2023. While Democrat Gov. Mikie Sherrill says it's her predecessor's fault, and claims "[no] elections were swayed," the real story is what Restoration of America founder Doug Truax has been saying since 2020: This is what you get with sloppy, inaccurate voter rolls. The SAVE America Act would require proof of citizenship before anyone registers to vote in any state. So why are Democrats fighting it tooth and nail in Congress? restoration-news.com/democra…

On June 29, the same day the Supreme Court gave states the right to count mail-in ballots past Election Day, news broke that Green Bay, Wisconsin had mailed duplicate ballots to voters—for the second time this year. This reaffirms the dangers four conservative justices warned about in their dissent. In April, a labeling error sent duplicate absentee ballots to 152 voters. Then on June 29, the city confirmed that voters in eight wards received a second ballot ahead of the August 11 primary. City Clerk Celestine Jeffreys again blamed a printing error. It would be easy to write this off as a local administrative hiccup (it very well could be). But the error offers a concrete illustration of a much bigger problem the Supreme Court just magnified for the entire country. The Court ruled on June 29 in Watson v. Republican National Committee that federal law does not require states to finish counting absentee ballots by Election Day. If a ballot is postmarked on time, a state can legally accept and count it for days afterward. restoration-news.com/this-ma…

Too many states treat their registration lists like classified documents, hiding them behind restrictive laws and specious claims to privacy. For instance, Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin tried to make @VoteReference an election integrity watchdog and subsidiary of Restoration of America, apply to each of the 351 local election officials for voter records. New Mexico tried to bring criminal charges against VRF for publishing its voter data. Both failed, but this shows the lengths states will go to prevent the public from scrutinizing their voter rolls. restoration-news.com/resista…

Instead of increasing transparency of our taxpayer-funded voter registration rolls, the trend is going in the other direction. Restoration News' Jacob Grandstaff reports that states are increasingly trying to restrict access to the vital voting records. This is unacceptable. We pay for those records with our tax dollars and have a right to see them. Federal law backs that up. We created the Voter Reference Foundation (VRF) and VoteRef.com in 2021 to give the public easy access to the rolls for the first time. We will fight this troubling trend and won't stop until all citizens of the United States have rapid access to the voter rolls. Only through transparency can we restore trust in our opaque election system. restoration-news.com/states-… @VoteReference @NewsRestoration

As America marks 250 years, we have never had so much to be grateful for—or so much to lose. In this reflection, we return to a truth the Founders understood and our generation has forgotten: that liberty is the gift of God, that it was purchased at a price, and that a nation drifting toward chaos has only one way home. "Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God." —proposed by Thomas Jefferson & Benjamin Franklin for the national seal, 1776 "I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that his justice cannot sleep forever." —Thomas Jefferson

Ideal election laws prioritize security, transparency, and eligibility verification to ensure only qualified American citizens cast ballots in the precincts where they registered to vote. States should require at least the following—by no means an all-encompassing list: -Proof of U.S. citizenship at registration -Strict government-issued photo ID for in-person and mail voting -Excuse-only absentee/mail-in ballots with Election Day deadlines -Same-day or limited pre-processing of ballots under observation -Prohibitions on ballot harvesting Additionally, early in-person voting should be minimal or tightly controlled, and absurdities like mobile voting vans or ballot drop boxes should not be considered. These measures make it easy for eligible voters to participate while making fraud difficult. If every state adopted these measures, it would restore public confidence that elections reflect the will of lawful citizens rather than offering loopholes unscrupulous activists or non-citizens to exploit. With these parameters in mind, here is our analysis of states with hotly contested Senate elections in this year’s midterms—ordered from worst to best on election integrity. restoration-news.com/ranked-…

The case in Maryland of one illegal voter demonstrates the scope of the problem nationwide. The Maryland Freedom Caucus said it took more than 10 years to detect that non-citizen Ian Roberts was on Maryland voter rolls despite being an illegal alien and not living in the state. Once detected, it took months to finally remove him. The Left uses bloated, inaccurate voter rolls as a storehouse for election fraud. We must clean up the rolls or we'll never clean up our elections. zerohedge.com/political/how-…

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D) has commuted the prison sentence of former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters, whom a partisan judge over-sentenced for politically incorrect speech about the 2020 election. Democrats' reaction to this case offers the latest proof of how dangerously totalitarian they have become. Terrified of scrutiny of alleged irregularities, Democrat prosecutors and judges waged a lawfare campaign against countless Republicans who dared question the legitimacy of Biden's victory. But Peters' case was exceptionally obscene. On May 15, Polis announced Peters will be released on parole on June 1, slashing her draconian nine-year sentence roughly in half. This comes a month after the Colorado Court of Appeals ordered her resentenced because of improper consideration of her right to free speech in the original sentencing. In his commutation letter, Polis admitted that Peters' actions "did not interfere with any election" and "did not have to do with ballot counting." He framed the commutation around disproportionate sentencing and First Amendment concerns, acknowledging Peters was "over-sentenced." restoration-news.com/victory…

President Donald Trump's Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed lawsuits against 30 states and the District of Columbia for refusing to hand over their voter registration lists. Its mission of ensuring clean voter rolls by identifying dead voters, non-citizens, and duplicate registrations is morally legitimate and legally sound. But its methods are leading to failure. The DOJ currently stands at 0-for-6 in federal district courts, with its most recent loss coming in Arizona. In that case, the judge made a crucial distinction between what federal law authorizes—that states hand over data provided by voting registrants—and what the DOJ is demanding—states’ complete voter files. Although it’s technically the same information in a different format, judges are unlikely to budge on this point. restoration-news.com/exclusi…

Congressional Democrats talk tough about leveling the playing field. Now they’re complaining that the Supreme Court just gave them one. It turns out “fair” meant “rigged in our favor” – and on April 29 the court called their bluff. Louisiana v. Callais is about ending a 60-year abuse that turned the 1965 Voting Rights Act from a tool for stopping racial discrimination into a weapon for mandating it. Under a warped interpretation of the law’s original purpose, federal courts long forced states to draw congressional maps based on voters’ race. The result: 144 majority-minority districts, just 23 of which elected Republicans in 2024. Call it what it is: affirmative action for Democratic members of Congress. restoration-news.com/scotus-…

After Pennsylvania taxpayers funded a lengthy legal battle in which the state fought to prevent taxpayers from seeing election integrity records, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, in a unanimous April 28 opinion, has sided with taxpayers. The case started with a 2021 Right to Know request by open-source investigator and election analyst Heather Honey. She asked Lycoming County for a digital copy of the Cast Vote Record (CVR) file for every precinct tabulator and central tabulator used in the 2020 General Election. Notably, in August 2025, President Donald Trump appointed Honey to serve as the Department of Homeland Security's deputy assistant secretary for elections integrity. Her expertise prompted bitter attacks from leftists aiming to discredit her, but they can't argue with the facts in the election records she has made accessible to everyone in Pennsylvania, all because she refused to back down. Because of the court's decision, going forward, anyone can request CVRs in Pennsylvania and use it for election integrity research. restoration-news.com/pennsyl…

More evidence that we need to pass the SAVE America Act. This midterm election year, election integrity is a hot-button issue, with President Donald Trump and the Republicans pushing the SAVE Act for securing our elections and Democrats frantically working to protect their centuries-old fraud apparatus. You won’t believe how many illegal votes the Trump administration and a judicial watchdog have uncovered just in a few states – enough to delegitimize contested elections of the past few years. Indeed, using numbers released by the Justice Department, the Homeland Security Department, and Judicial Watch, the feds and watchdogs have identified at least 6.38 million illegal aliens’, dead people’s, and other illicit names on voter rolls across the USA. restoration-news.com/secure-…
