π We're officially live on Product Hunt!
After months of building, Volvox.Bot is finally here.
If you're managing a Discord community, we'd love for you to check it out, try it, and share your feedback.

Happy new week, everyone. π
A new week is a clean slate. Whatever you're building, learning, or figuring out right now, we hope this is the week it starts to come together.
Two weeks of showing you what we build. Here's the ask.
If you've got something you're trying to build, or something half-built that stalled, it starts with a call. Not a 14-field intake form, not a discovery package, not a proposal deck three weeks later. A conversation about what you're trying to do.
We'll usually have a sense of timeline and cost before the call ends, because we've built enough range to recognise the shape of a project.
And the part that matters after the invoice: we're still here. Support continues past launch.
5.0 on the App Store. 5.0 on Product Hunt. Everything built in-house.
Volvox has been two things since 2020, and we've never been great at explaining the second one.
The first is a software company that ships products and builds for clients.
The second is an open-source learning community. Our repos are public. Beginners contribute to real, shipped software. PRs get reviewed properly, with explanations, by people who remember being the one asking the obvious question.
Those two things are supposed to be in tension. They aren't. The mentorship makes the engineering better, because explaining why something works is the fastest way to find out whether you actually understood it.

Here's the Discord bot pricing pattern most community managers know too well: the moderation features, the ones that keep your server safe, sit behind the paid tier.
Volvox.Bot's entire feature set is free. AI chat, auto-moderation with configurable thresholds, TL;DR summaries, XP and reputation, long-term user memory, support tickets, welcome flows, analytics and a full audit log.
We bring AI to Discord, for free. Breakdown and comparison at volvox.bot.

Something is about to change in the Volvox Discord.
We're launching quests. Complete tasks, earn points, climb the leaderboard, and when each quest ends, the cash prizes go out.
Here's how it works.
Every quest comes with a set of tasks. Finish one and you earn points. Finish more and you earn more. Those points decide where you land on the leaderboard, so every task counts.
It doesn't matter if you joined this week or you've been here from the start. Everyone gets the same chance to climb.
A quest typically runs for two weeks. That's long enough to make a real move and short enough that every day matters. When it ends, participants are rewarded with cash prizes, and then the next quest begins.
To get in, join the Volvox Discord, find the quest in the Zealy category, and start collecting points. The earlier you start, the further you can climb.

Most recovery apps are built for the person in recovery. Sobers is built for both sides of the relationship.
Sponsors connect to a sponsee through a private invite code, assign structured tasks, and follow progress on a shared timeline β instead of guessing between weekly calls whether someone has started step four.
Sponsorship is unpaid, voluntary work that thousands of people do without any tooling at all. This is the part of the product we don't talk about enough.
Sobers handles some of the most sensitive data a person can hand to an app: sobriety dates, relapses, private notes between a sponsor and a sponsee.
Our answer to "why should I trust you with that" is not a privacy policy. It's the source code, in public, readable before you install anything.
That's an uncomfortable standard to hold yourself to and we think it's the right one for this category.
Itβs a new week π
Our Decision Jar is here to help you overcome your choice paralysis and get ahead. Give it a go!
Available on iOS and android.
We don't have a fixed org chart, and that's deliberate.
Most agencies sell you a team shape first and fit your project to it. You get a producer, an account manager, a designer and two developers whether or not your project needs five people.
Volvox flexes the other way round. The team assembles around what the work actually calls for β developers, designers, project support, brought in as needed. An API integration doesn't get the same shape as a consumer app launch.
The one thing that never flexes: everything is built in-house. No outsourcing, no black boxes, no subcontractor you've never met touching your codebase.
We just hit 1200+ members on discord. π
Thank you to everyone who joined, showed up and have been active. It is very much appreciated. This community is just getting started.

Community management has a retention problem that tooling rarely addresses: your most engaged members get exactly the same experience as someone who joined ten seconds ago.
Volvox.Bot handles both ends of that, long-term per-user memory so responses are actually personalised, and a configurable XP and reputation system with role rewards so your regulars get recognised automatically.
Free, fully hosted, managed from a web dashboard.
Most dev shops open with a wall of client logos. We can't, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.
We don't have a stack of client case studies yet. What we do have is three products we built end to end, shipped, and still maintain:
Decision Jar β consumer mobile, iOS and Android, 5 stars on the App Store Volvox.Bot β AI infrastructure, hosted, running in live Discord servers Sobers β cross-platform, iOS, Android and web, with the source public
Mobile, backend, AI, web, all of it in-house. That's not a case study, it's better: it's software you can download and judge yourself right now.
If you're weighing up a build, start with a call.
Everyone thinks decision jar just picks for you
it also tells you what to put in the jar. blank jar β AI fills it with options you wouldn't have thought of
Three separate app store reviewers brought this up unprompted
