I am the admin of two public energy investing message boards (doomonyou at both). Due to a serious hacking attack the older board ( investorvillage.com/Groups.a…… ) is not publicly viewable and is not free to join like it used to be. It is working normally however at this time if you were a member you are still. I have setup a new public board, fully moderated, to discuss energy and metals investing at X communities at xitter.cf/i/communities/19512553… with many of the same people there and that one is free to join and publicly viewable without consideration.
For now the Investorvillage board is much busier and has recovered somewhat to its old volume of posts. But both boards will be maintained in case Investorvillage has future problems, as I am not clear on the new pay-only business model works long term. Better to be prepared.
AIRBNB'S ENTIRE PITCH WAS "CHEAPER THAN A HOTEL."
That was the actual selling point. The whole business model.
You get a place with a kitchen, more room, a neighborhood feel, and you skip the markup that comes with a hotel.
Now you find a listing that looks reasonable right up until the final checkout page, where suddenly there's a cleaning fee, a service fee, local taxes, and a checkout list so long it reads like a part-time job description.
Strip the beds. Start the laundry. Take out every trash bag. Wash and put away every dish. All before you're allowed to leave, after you've already paid a cleaning fee to cover exactly that.
At some point someone needs to explain what the savings actually are.
Because if I'm paying close to hotel pricing and then doing the cleaning staff's job before checkout, I didn't book the cheaper option.
I booked a hotel with chores attached.

So $SPCX is forecasting $500B to $1T in AI ARR at YE 2027, on $500B of capex (10 GW increase)?! This is a 1-2x revenue/investment ratio as the entire industry is now at 0.3x. Their 3Q AI capex was only $16B. They had better get going…

Er … massive fuck-up (technical term).
Were yer told that digital cash was the future? The Government decided businesses didn’t have to accept cash. And so banks have closed nearly 7,000 branches! … Brilliant!
And now ONE technical failure and the system collapsed. (Didn’t even need a naked hacker in his bedroom.)
It was a POWER FAILURE! 🤡
FACT CHECK: TRUE
LOUDEST STATE? #NewJersey earned the top spot, outpacing second-place Massachusetts and third-place Rhode Island by a wide margin. More on the study - bit.ly/4eo9GjP
...and I am out of $CVE etc and clear of the stocks now.
That was a very tasteful >1% grab for the day to read some really stupid headlines and wait until they were refused by all pertinent parties.
Its not much, but its dishonest work...

BREAKING: Iran directly rejects reports claiming the US and Iran reached a deal, with Iran's Ghalibaf saying that Iran's negotiating conditions haven't changed in months, and that there are no talks unless "the US meets seven conditions to gain trust."
"We have nothing new to say," Ghalibaf adds.
Iran's unchanged conditions include: $300 billion in US compensation, complete lifting of all US sanctions, release of $100 billion in frozen Iranian assets, end of the US naval blockade, US troop withdrawal from the entire region, and a comprehensive regional ceasefire including in Lebanon and Gaza.

China is back buying oil (October imports now "only" down 1.8MM Bbl/d YOY) while Middle Eastern production remains down ~4MM Bbl/d vs. pre-war levels. 234 days into the "2 week incursion" and we've forfeited over 2BN barrels of production. Restocking to take years...
at this point you do start to wonder if the only thing that will get people's attention is the whole place just collapsing in on them like a sci fi movie...
Yesterday in Lewiston: @TheMaineWire Reporter @MaineWireJon watched Somali “translators” help several elderly Somalis vote.
Notably, all the “translators” work for taxpayer-funded NGOs and Medicaid agencies.
This is how you turn a working class town into a Dem stronghold.

BOMBSHELL:
Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton’s own mother urges voters not to vote for her daughter.
“My name is Donna Arthur and I’m Amy Acton’s mother. I worked at Children and Family Service Association, building one of the first two sexual abuse programs in America.
I love my daughter, but when I saw her lying about her opponent—and it’s not easy for a mother to say this—but Amy has a serious problem.
She is a liar. She lies about her past. She says she grew up living in a tent. None of that is true. She’s lied her entire life.
My daughter needs help, and she can’t help you if she needs help herself. People can change, but first they have to tell the truth, and my daughter still isn’t doing that.
Don’t vote for people who lie. Don’t let her become your governor. If you think she’ll make your life better, you’re fooling yourself. It will only get worse.”
That’s one hell of an October surprise.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Acton's mother lost custody of her children after years of documented issues, including time spent living in a tent and a spouse who sexually abused her daughter Amy (Acton). Amy Acton's brother has also confirmed this story.

We can only hope the Utopians finally get what they want there.
The lessons need to be at catastrophic levels to even have a chance to get through to the Cultists.

Californians are currently voting on a one-time 5% billionaire tax: Proposition 40.
This is a unique opportunity to start addressing one of the great absurdities of our time —that billionaires pay so little in taxes.
If it passes, it could kickstart the movement for a national billionaire tax and inspire similar initiatives other countries.
This is how we move from 19th century charity to 21st century democracy.
