It took out my beloved dioptase, but Iβve still gotta support kyanite to win #MinCup24 - aluminosilicate polymorphs are just so useful (and pretty)!
#MinCup24 Finals: #Rhodochrosite vs. #Kyanite
Rhodochrosite, also known as Rosa del Inca is a carbonate that is a mix of utility and charm. Blue blades of Kyanite are distinctive at first glance, but unmistakable with their directional hardness.

#MinCup24 R4M2: #Dioptase vs. #Kyanite
This semifinal round is bound to end in heartbreak π. Dioptase, the desert emerald, faces blue metamorphic index mineral Kyanite.

Things are slowly getting exciting at the #MinCup24: #Titanite and #Calcite are currently tied. Many of the classics have already been eliminated and will be back next year. Is this an omen for #calcite? Which of the two will take on #Rhodochrosite?
Itβs been a terribly exciting 1st Round of #MinCup24 - brackets have been ruined, trash has been talked, organic minerals have been learned about & more!!
My first couple weeks as a professor have been a LOT - so of COURSE I started tearing up when I came back from class to these touching decorations on my office door!
@WichitaStateGeo has such amazing students & it's nice to feel so appreciated! π₯°
HIT ME UP.
Email me if Elsevier (surprise, surprise) went back on their acceptance of our orders - ESPECIALLY if you received TWO receipts!!! Not sure what Iβm talking about?
Check out their T&C & letβs lawyer upppp
Replying to @VolcanoDoc @ElsevierConnect
Can we get 40 people who placed orders, got confirmations, and then got cancellations? I think this is minimum # for a class action lawsuit. One hurdle I see is Elsevier could just be like "sorry, we ran out, had to cancel the rest of the orders." So idk how good of a case we have.
If you would like to contact @ElsevierConnect, their customer service number is (800)545-2522.
All our orders were cancelled & the ISBN is "under investigation".
$6500 is enough money for me to talk to a lawyer is all I'm saying.
It should be ZERO surprise to anyone that @ElsevierConnect goes back on their word.
So sorry that we scientists purchased an 11-volume set of books that YOUR PUBLISHING COMPANY SET AT TEN CENTS.
GIVE US THE BOOKS WE PAID MONEY FOR. PERIOD.
I assure you, you CAN afford it.
