Sierra Leone is advancing a community-led approach to building cleaner, more resilient coastal communities. Launched on 15 September 2026, the Coastal Future Initiative builds on a pilot led by @4_craving Craving 4 Development (C4D) in Fungiya, focusing on training women and young people in waste management, flood mitigation, climate adaptation, green entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods. The regional programme will span Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia, Ghana and Senegal, with plans to train 800 women and young people.
