She fails my test. 1. Will you be >80 years old by the end of your term? If YES, then: 2. Do you provide an indispensable electoral or leadership advantage that cannot plausibly be replicated by any other living person? If NO, I oppose you.
🚨#BreakingNews A spokesman for Sen. Patty Murray’s campaign confirmed to the Lynnwood Times that she plans to seek re-election in 2028. 💬 “Senator Murray has said she plans to run in 2028 and that remains the case,” the spokesman wrote. @PattyMurray, a Democrat, has represented Washington in the U.S. Senate since January 3, 1993, when she became the state’s first female senator. Now in her sixth term, she is the longest-serving woman in Senate history and the first woman to serve as president pro tempore, a post she held from 2023 to 2025. She is vice chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee. Her record includes co-authoring the Violence Against Women Act of 1994; chairing the Veterans’ Affairs, Budget, and Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committees; and negotiating the 2013 bipartisan budget deal with then-Rep. Paul Ryan. She has also backed the Affordable Care Act, the No Surprises Act banning surprise medical bills, and major climate and infrastructure investments directed to Washington. Murray’s platform centers on working families: lowering health-care and prescription costs, protecting reproductive rights, expanding child care and paid leave, supporting veterans, and advancing clean energy and education funding for the state. Rumors have circulated that Gov. Bob Ferguson is considering a run for Murray’s seat. The Lynnwood Times emailed his office seeking comment on those reports and has not received a response.

I'm surprised Troy Jackson hasn't been accidentally deported for sounding that Canadian.

I actually don't find it weird at all that a series of children's books didn't include descriptive sex scenes.
The HP universe is weirdly sexless, anyway. Even when the books first came out: I assumed that as a coming of age story covering basically his whole life, his first time would at least be a plot point, as was ubiquitous in coa stories, but it was just ignored.

Actually every boomer I've had significant interaction with has been great. It's GenX that's the worst generation (so far - the zoomers haven't fully baked yet)
They are just the worst generation of people ever. Top to bottom some of the most entitled, self centered jerks.

Oh God, we're doing this discourse again. I cannot comprehend how spoiled you have to be that you find eating chicken and rice, stew, and sandwiches to be a subhuman indignity.
I agree with this. The people who keep screaming that it’s “cheaper” eat the same depressing, boring food, day after day. I’m not making chicken and rice and sandwiches and stew for weeks on end. Sure, that would be “cheaper” in the long run. But you’re eating like a dog.

It’s amusing to me that “The Whale” sort of remained in the public consciousness as long as it has.

I don't think your circle of acquaintances is typical, chief.
It's not uncommon at all, every man I know has had a false rape accusation or two against them

Dude was never a superstar in NFL player adjusted terms. I think maybe she just likes the guy and isn't there for some kind of celebrity factor. Plus they've both made more money than I'm likely to ever make in my life. I think they'll be fine.
There was a NYT article written recently on Simone Biles’ husband that gave me the ick. Basically how he’s failing forward in football and yet upwardly mobile by being married to her. Hate this for my girl. nytimes.com/athletic/7610768…

I actually cannot think of a more anti-American ethos than both anti-hard work and pro divine right of kings in the same paragraph.
Does he mean...the Disney movie? 😂

Our wholesale rejection of de jure privilege of birth is what defined us at our founding. The fact that that's no longer special is the product of American soft power. That a man is what he makes of himself, not what he is born to, is the most concise summary of Americanism.

Even if Talarico ultimately loses, he's still an MVP for drawing this much money away from other races.
