it hasn't been emphasized enough that niantic's lightship uses proprietary tech for meshing and occlusion – and is not wholly dependent ios (lidar) or android (depth api) specific solutions.
∴ apps built with lightship will run on a wider range of devices.
First look comparing Niantic's Lightship #ARDK on iPhone 12 Pro and Note 9, identical 'Depth' example Unity project running. Impressive scalability with/out LiDAR, obviously newer phone is much faster. This is a win for everybody!

My biggest critique of the tech industry now is that founders and team leads will put a lot of effort into making sure other people know the women on their team are highly valued but neglect the crucial first step of ensuring the women on their team know they are valued.

Apple already announced the U1 chip in the new watches, but didn't really say much about what it will do. Well, as an example, if your watch and airpods have spatial tracking, you could pretend to be a Jedi Trainer. Leave the phone on a table and just go play!

I'm so excited to share that I joined @ditto as a Senior Product Manager for iOS and iPad AR solutions. We build & license the tech for virtual try ons of glasses - a great intersection of CV/AR research & actually shipping product. Thanks to all who helped me find this role!

If I am using Google lens to identify a giant spider that is on my dining table, I’d say the contextually relevant info to aim for on response is an answer to “will this fucking kill me” not your best guess for species classification

Like @JoannaPopper, I've been spending a lot of time at both @brcvr in @AltSpaceVR & #VeniceVRExpanded Film Festival in @Viveport, @Oculus TV, & @VRChat.
It's been surreal virtually hopping between virtual Black Rock City and virtual Venice running into folks who would be there.
This week is a pretty amazing one in the #VirtualReality world n the past, many our #VR community either headed deep into the desert for #BurningMan or to the canals and Lido of Venice for the #VeniceFilmFestival. This year, from home, we can attend both in 1 day
